Re: 2018 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Clapp's performance will determine whether we keep eight (8) or nine (9) offensive linemen...
If Clapp is awesome, we keep eight and let LeRibeus geaux; if he's solid, still showing inexperience, we keep nine... Ranking our offensive linemen - Unger, Ramczyk, Armstead, Peat, Warford, Bushrod, Clapp, Leonard, LeRibeus... |

Re: 2018 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Saw that. He'd been graded in the mid-70s by PFF the past couple of years and was going into the third year of a five year/$30mil contract...
Guess the Bengals didn't feel he was worth the coin... See us keeping four (4) safeties this year: FS (2) 43 - Marcus A. Williams, 31 - Chris Banjo SS (2) 29 - Kurt Coleman (FA 2018), 24 - Vonn Bell With Natrell Jamerson has the CB/S/NB hybrid... George is a big boy at 6' 4", but I wonder if he hasn't lost a step??? |

The reason I like the Coleman signing so much is I don't see much of a future for big strong safeties and two-down thumper linebacker in a pass-happy league... That's why there's such a premium on guys like Polomalu; if Iloka can no longer cover, then it's like Kenny V, Harper and it becomes a problematic matchup headache... |

Hill could eliminate Savage from the equation with a bounce-back performance; but I think the Saints play it close to the vest on this one... At RB, agree that Scott, Williams make the roster; disagree about FB, as it's Edmunds OR Line, not both... Right on-board with you at Tight End, and I wouldn't be surprised if late-add John Phillips or a TE - To Be Named is a fourth TE; Hooman is done, not available... Offensive line looks right, with Bushrod first out behind Mr. Glass, Peat; Clapp backing Warford, Unger; and Leonard is coming on late... DE is right as well; Kikaha is a 4-3 OLB and should have been traded two seasons ago; Payton & Co. really screwed him and us by not moving him... Would really like to keep another NT for goal line packages; but on second thought Onyemata and/or Lawrence could fill-in; this is gonna be toughest of cuts... The more I look at LBer, the more I see only six making the roster; we're seeing more and more 5-2 and nickel than 4-3 base, but you've got the right six... Jumper needs more work and I was surprised to see him moved to OLB as he's been a Mike LBer in college; Practice Squad candidate... Jayrone had his PreSeason moment; Cardinals were ready for him and he was neutralized as has been his MO... Don't see Kamrin Moore making the active roster - too far behind, still nicked up; sneak him on practice squad and develop him for later... That leaves P.J. Williams vs Arthur Maulet; don't know why but P.J. always plays down to competition, even though he has more physical talent... Maulet has really gotten exposed for his height in the Pre-Season games and that's why it comes down to Maulet vs Hardee and I'd take the bigger guy... Hardee has shown amazing progress trusting the coaches with the position change and rewarding them with much improved play; also, a plus Special Teamer... Really like your post... |
