And I'm tired of hearing people say we "Gave up two draft picks..."

It's so wildly inaccurate I'm shocked guys like Tripplette keep saying it.

We swapped firsts (net net) and gave a (likely) LOW first rounder and 5th rounder in 2019.

In return we selected a 6'6" DE who's improved every single season he's played the position.

True, we "gave up" a first to move up to nab what may be the missing ingredient for a Superbowl team.

I can't think of another position on this team that we needed as badly as a DE opposite Jordan. Maybe another high quality DT to rotate with Davison? Hughes may end up being that guy tho.

The more I read about this guy the more I like him. He has all the characteristics that you want in a DE and he interviews very well. I like him.

I'm fine with Ryan Nielsen getting the guy he wants. If you weren't paying attention, ALL of his D lineman from NC State were drafted this year. ALL of them.

That's an extremely impressive stat 76. Coach Nielsen will turn Davenport into a monster.

EDIT: I was referring to the statement we "gave up two FIRST ROUND picks..."

He's cerebral, for sure. Hopefully not too much inside his own head. Talking to a buddy this weekend, Davenport reminded me a bit of Ricky Williams in the way he interviewed.

I am not saying Davenport isn't worthy of being selected 14th overall. I am saying he isn't worthy of being selected 14th +32nd (at the bare minimum winning super bowl) + 147th. I can't understand the jump when you sign Okafor and drafted Hendrickson in the 3rd. THE ONLY PLAUSIBLE reason for making this trade is that Davenport is a future HOF prospect. I see no more than a Renaldo Turnbull possible as less Courtney Brown. If he next Ricky Jackson pass the plate of crow I will eat it with a smile.

The jump was because he is being favorably compared to Chubb and can be the elite edge rusher that can compliment Cam Jordan.
