Not saying it will be the same but Aaron Brooks stunk so bad in his first preseason that Haslett wondered why the staff recommended him.

He's a cool gimmick player. He works great as a gunner on ST, and I like the idea of having him as the holder for field goals. That speed makes him a legitimate threat to be able to run or pass in that situation. But I'll stick with what I said months ago.. if they thought he had an actual chance to step in when Drew retires, he would never have seen a snap on ST. He might end up being a good QB someday, but he would need years, I'm talking anywhere from 5-10 before he's ready. I would actually love to see him transition to slot receiver. I think that's where he could make a real impact in the much nearer future. He could continue to serve as a core special teamer and emergency third QB while he learns his new position. Then you end up with a guy who has multiple position flexibility in the here and now, which is always a good thing. Along with what I think is a pretty good chance that he could become a great slot receiver. His size and speed alone would make him a matchup problem. He should already have a pretty good idea about coverages and route concepts, even if he can't use it to his advantage as a QB. I mean it's what Cam Meredith did and it seems to be working out for him. I dunno, I hope they consider it. They obviously like having him around and want to keep him. Why not give it a shot?

I disagree with most of the posts. Everyone can have an off game. Even Drew has had some stinkers. Lombardi, Payton and Drew will help this kid and he will be very good one day. One thing noticed is that they did not call plays to his strength. No rollouts or moving the pockets

I think that's a fair comment. I posted earlier that he didn't look comfortable or confident, but have to think there is something Payton sees in him. Last night he played against the 1st defence team as well. It may have been a "trial by fire" exercise to see what he actually has. The turnovers didn't bother me at all......it happens! Perhaps with some confidence under his belt we may see a different player. Gotta hope! I really like this kid, but he has a long ways to go!

Reminds me a little like Tebow... well maybe more than a little.

I just have to wonder, with Hill, if his nerves weren't his biggest obstacle.

I am willing to see him get another shot, but the leash would be pretty short if I were in charge.

I'd also like to see Barrett get his time too. Of the three he impressed the most last night IMO.

I’m not saying that’s it for t hill . I believe he’s more of like a g man give him a job to do one thing and he will master it . A qb has several jobs to do at one time . This guy will do and get it done what u ask if it’s 2 yards for a first he will pound it but to start checking down receivers , stepping up in the pocket , avoiding a de at your blind side , it’s over whelming for the guy as of now

Everyone needs to call the **** down. It was one game. Hill hasn't seen live game action at QB in two years. Let him get more live snaps...

John Fourcade looked like a world beater cleaning up in the last minutes of the fourth quarter in PreSeason; then reality hit against the ones...

Exactly. Lets not forget that one of his Ints hit the receiver in the hands and another was basically a hail mary. He did not look comfortable at all though.

I’m not sure if J.T. Barrett is the QB of the future, but I tried to tell people he was a better QB than Taysom Hill based on their college careers and people argued me down. Barrett was very successful in college. You put J.T. Barrett on LSU and they win several championships. He’s used to the big moments.
