finding a QB is hard, I'd like to see what JT can do over time, but as far as finding another Brees...ain't gonna happen

Good GOD...thank goodness some of you nitwits don't run the franchise!!!

There may be something to the hand size issue (which I've no knowledge of as being factual as I've not researched). But the 2 picks weren't on him, I'd put both on the WRs. Across the middle hit him square in the hands and went right thru. Ginn got beat out for position by the DB and gave up on the play from the way I saw it play out.

The fumbles are coachable moments and we'll see if he learns from the experience. I haven't heard a single peep before this preseason game of this being an issue. If it truly was I'm pretty sure there would have been more on the issue during camp before now.

Did none of you people bashing him see the way he got out of the one pressure where he scrambled right and made a great throw to turn a negative play into a positive one. First down if I'm not mistaken to Arnold (I think? I gotta watch it again). The big thing out of that play was the reaction by Payton and the rest of the coaching staff. They seemed pretty psyched on that play and that was after the previous mishaps where you'd think they'd not be so impressed.

In the end...who am I gonna go with on thoughts about the #2?? You guys or Payton, Carmichael, and Lombardi??? I'll give you a clue...it's probably not anyone reading this forum post!!!

Ok. 4 turnovers and one good impressive play. Give me a game manager and run the ball down their throats while we still have a healthy line. Only way we are winning if Brees goes down.
Hill is the second coming of Aaron Brooks.

As far as Hill goes, I keep hearing how good he is on special teams but nothing he has done sticks out in my mind. I feel like I would remember at least a play or two since he’s such an ace.

First, sorry if I've ruffled feathers of those who sit and post on this board more frequently than I do.

But saying my point is not relevant because it's not bolstered by a +5K post count in my profile is a laughable if not ridiculous premise. Contest me on my points all day long. I don't mind debate.

But anyone puffing out their keyboard warrior chest and strutting around their room like they put me in my place by pointing out my 70 odd posts just shows me they lack the ability to argue the point at hand. My posts were sarcastic, yes. Sorry, but they went at specific points which none of the detractors countered successfully. Hill had 1 half, that doesn't make him garbage. Him coming out at his next opportunity and making the same mistakes without any growth would be a warning sign. Truth.

I'm just saying I don't think he's a bust, especially not at this point.

Slam me all you want for my mainly lurking and reading on topics that interest me versus posting thousands of times. That's okay. It's all good, in the end I'll cheer with any of you at any Saints game if I'm standing nearby.

To label him a bust is to act as if we gave up something or invested a lot of cash to get him. He just isn’t living up to the hype and doesn’t look like he ever will be anything more than a special teams player. Not sure he’s REALLY all that good at that.
I thought from the beginning Payton was playing some sort of a game hyping this guy up. Didn’t know if it was a draft strategy or building him up in the eyes of the media for use as future trade bait. He’s exposed now.
If Brees goes down I expect us to sign Bridgewater.

I really do not want to see Savage make this roster. He is washed up as far as I a, concerned. I don't believe in developing a player for 2 or 3 years. Either you go "IT" or you don't. Look at the overall performance of he three players and let the other 2 go. Hill can play special teams which is a plus which may help him stick around and be an emergency option so they may keep 2. I say JT is probably their best option at this point. If he doesn't come around we could be in big trouble. It's really hard to find a franchise quarterback. It looks like there is going to be a big drop off for this team when Brees goes. It's going to take a lot of luck to find his replacement.

Savage looks like a statue in the pocket, staring down receivers.

I know I'll probably get flamed for this (I may deserve it) but I think we've bought too much into that angle. In 11, 12+ years, coach has yet to develop even a backup QB despite taking more than a half dozen bites at the apple.

LIKE THE ONE'S I MENTIONED 4 PAGES AGO?
YOUNG QB'S DRAFTED SINCE 2009 TYLER PALKO, SEAN CANFIELD, GARRET GRAYSON THE FREE AGENTS ACTUALLY TO MAKE OTHER ROSTERS CHASE DANIEL AND RYAN GRIFFIN

Yep, and it's a bad habit to correct; in fact, Savage didn't even seem to have eyes down field, going right to the check-down receiver who was immediately tackled...

I still think coach puts a lot of value in the experienced guy with the clipboard, who has veteran experience when it comes to seeing stuff and talking to Drew and the O line on the sidelines, and especially for having ice water in his veins when holding those crucial kicks and extra points in clutch situations. Mark Brunnell being the classic example, but there have been others. Luke McCown. Coach Payton likes guys like that. Remember, Mark Brunnell was the steady-handed veteran holder for head case kid Hartley, hit the fleur de lis, pigs have flown and all that. Guys like McCown and Brunnell may not have burned up the stat sheet but they were always pretty solid under the bright lights and high pressure on special teams.
