The league isn't stopping him from playing. As I pointed out earlier, the commissioner could prevent him from playing by placing him on the exempt list, IF and only IF he so chooses and that requires Brown to be signed to an NFL contract first. I don't expect any suspension until AFTER any investigation is complete.

I really like what AB could do for our offense but on the other hand I'd rather not see our playbook posted on Instagram.

Oh boy!!! To wake up to this kind of news is crazy. One hand I feel like it’s Xmas on the 27th and on the other hand with all his antics I feel like he can be major distraction. Roll the dice and the worst that can come out is probably a compensation pick in 2020.

Re: Antonio Brown at Saints Facility

The guy will have to clear league protocol
His serious off field allegations

That process has been in the deep freeze
No way does it happen for the playoffs

This sounds like just press fodder for Espn, NFL Network, Fox Sports etc
they can talk at length
downgrade our achievements etc

I'd rather win with what we got than this circus

Pisses me off we didn't get Emmanuel Sanders for a win now scenario
now he IS the GO TO wr for San Fran

terrible

I suspect the lack of investigation is not an intentional black ball but rather a resource decision. Brown was released and has no contract with the league, why waste time and resources until a team decides to in effect sponsor him.

These sorts of investigations can turn ugly, quick. Why risk that for someone that may or may not play again. If the Saints shows enough interests the league would start the investigation.

Still wouldn’t conclude in time for the playoffs, well maybe the last 2m of the 4th Qtr kf the Super Bowl.

Once again, he is free to be signed to play. He was released, not suspended. He wouldn't be subject to a suspension until after an investigation.

If a team signs him he could be put on the commissioner's exemption list. Which means he won't play until the investigation advises he can.

I'm sure this is what everyone is talking about. Obviously, there was no need to place him on that list because he hadn't signed with a team.

Stop treating everyone like they're stupid. Its annoying.

The point is that he COULD be put on the exempt list IF the commissioner has a reason to place him on the list. As Halo pointed out, he is involved in a civil case. A simple "she said/he said" case that may be thrown out altogether. The league will not delve into any investigation if there is nothing illegal or criminal involved.

I'm not saying people are stupid ... just simply uninformed. The smartest people can be wrong if they are unaware of the facts.

Once again, there is no active investigation. And even if there was one it would not preclude him from playing. In every other case leading to being placed upon the exempt list there has been formal charges involved.

I'm not lobbying for or against the Saints signing Brown. I am simply pointing out the relevant facts, or more precisely the relevant non-facts.
