Re: Antonio Brown at Saints Facility
AB is in the midst of a civil case, not a criminal case.
Britany Taylor says she was "raped" but there are no criminal charges. She's gone to civil court to get money. There's tons of evidence that they were dating. AB is fighting the civil case, but there may be a settlement or it may get thrown out, who knows. The league hasn't investigated it because it's a civil case and nothing but a settlement will come from it. Until there is an actual criminal charge and case, it's just a girlfriend's word against her ex-boyfriend. The league may not see fit to act, but I suspect when the Saints invest in AB, Goodell will blacklist him. Any which way, AB has been a troublemaker. He needs a team like New Orleans or the Patriots to straighten him out. This would be his second chance with a big team that doesn't put up with BS. Patriots cut him based on the claim and hearsay and that activists started going to their press conferences. Does that make it true? Not really. Just outrage over something that may end up being nothing. Who knows. |

I'm sure this is what everyone is talking about. Obviously, there was no need to place him on that list because he hadn't signed with a team. Stop treating everyone like they're stupid. Its annoying. |

I'm not saying people are stupid ... just simply uninformed. The smartest people can be wrong if they are unaware of the facts. Once again, there is no active investigation. And even if there was one it would not preclude him from playing. In every other case leading to being placed upon the exempt list there has been formal charges involved. I'm not lobbying for or against the Saints signing Brown. I am simply pointing out the relevant facts, or more precisely the relevant non-facts. |

Re: Antonio Brown at Saints Facility
Video I posted above puts it to rest. Saints will not sign Antonio Brown without knowing from the League office whether they intend to put him on the exempt list or not.

1) Nothing is precluding him from playing at this point if signed by a team as things stand now. 2) The commissioner has the authority to place a player on the exempt list IF it is warranted. 3) Past players have only been placed on the exempt list when formally charged. 4) Brown has not been formally charged with any crime. 5) There is no formal active league investigation into Brown's supposed activities. (Admittedly there has most likely been looking into the affairs) 6) A couple of members here had mistakenly assumed that he would not be allowed to play until cleared of any wrong doing based upon the results of an investigation that does not exist. 7) I simply pointed out the above facts to help clarify the matter. Methinks you might need to be the one to "chill", my friend. |
