Survey: Are you going to watch the Saints this season?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I won't be watching the NFL. Of course, I really didn't watch last season much and my family gave up our 6 season tickets we had for over twenty years after the Great Robbery. AsylumGuido is absolutely correct, it is ...

AsylumGuido is absolutely correct, it is entertainment.

The problem is that it is now entertainment aimed at stupid people with a powerful sense of entitlement, complete ignorance of history, and an overwhelming desire to be offended constantly.

It may be that the NFL are marketing geniuses and are reading the tea leaves correctly.

We may now be a country of Idiots. We shall find out shortly.

Will you watch the Saints and the NFL this year?
Yes. I need an escape in entertainment from everything.

I think there were five absolutely not watching the NFL. Maybe six. Probably around one in ten respondents. I doubt it would be a higher percentage nationally given other areas are far more liberal in nature to begin with. Any loss of boycotting viewers should easily be offset by the added influx of people unable to attend games in person and also based upon the fact that it will be the main live sporting events weekly in the world. I would be shacked if we didn't see record numbers week in and week out this season in broadcast viewership.

I’ll watch the Saints but not much after that, I just don’t have the want or desire to spend all day Sundays watching football

I'm sad to say that I will not be watching this year. This has been building for years. Roger Goodell is a cancer for the NFL and he can't be gone soon enough. This is the last straw for me. I had a whole bunch of stuff typed up on this subject, but I deleted it. It's probably best left unsaid.

Too bad, Srgt. Personally, I can't wait for the season to start. For me it's all about the games and nothing else matters. It's just like announcers. Supposedly some people can't stand certain announcers. I'm so engrossed by every game I watch that I don't notice the announcers one way or the other. I'll be tuned in every Thursday and Monday and all day Sunday with the Sunday Ticket game mix up watching eight games at once.

The small percentage not watching are not going to cause Goodell's demise especially since TV ratings should be the highest ever. You'll make either #6 or #7 here on B&G claiming to not watch any NFL this season. Although, I have a feeling if the Saints start off 8-0 that a few of y'all will find their way to a TV set before the season is over.

Edit: Oh, and if college football doesn't play (far, far more likely than the NFL not playing) I'll get at least a couple of Saturday games, too!! I can't wait!
