I was a runner keeping the food stands stocked on the third floor the first year and changing out kegs. I was a floor walker (runner supervisor) on the third floor the next year and head floor walker year three. That final year (1980) was the first year of the Super Derby. Never came close to a horse then, but it was still interesting watching the people. Eddie Debartolo owned the track back then. He also owned the 49er's at the time. I now drive by that track all the time. Just about three miles up I-220 from our house. I saw an obituary from the man the ran the commissary (where all the food and beer was stocked) there in the Spring. He had to have been 90 when he died. I thought he was so old back then. LOL!![]()
Sorry, but I never could moon walk. I've tried but can't get the moves down. |
