There is no sugar coating the fact that losing Kwon is a big blow on the surface. However, the only way forward I see is to buckle down with the roster as is and go forward. Much like the thread about signing Stills or another FA WR, there isn’t going to be a player available that can step in week 17 and help.

If/when the D line gets healthy for the playoff push and the secondary is intact for the massive push a healthy D-line can provide AND the Offense can rack up 50 points like tonight....then I still like the chances of another SB. Let’s face it, the Saints just assured the team that knocked them out of the playoffs 2 out of the last 3 years WON’T be able to do so this season. That’s a BIG psychological win IMO.

You think you know, but you don’t know...and you never will! Coach Jim Mora

Good player. 100 percent effort all the time. Big loss for the defense.

Well we certainly didn’t get better with anzalone! I’d rather have PJ play that role than Alex.

We just aren’t meant to have great LB’s. That’s why Demario Davis has been such a blessing.

The defense gelled when Kwon got here. He allowed Davis to do his job without hesitation instead of playing slower to cover for Thor who is pure s***! Man, I feel bad for Kwon but now I'm worried about teams exploiting our LB'ers.

Re: Kwon Alexander Torn Achilles

People are over estimating Kwon...

PFF grades:
Kwon: 54
Alex: 65

Kwon consist at overrunning plays and missing tackles, our run D got worse and worse with him shooting backside gaps and not closing or overshooting and allowing cut backs. He consistently plays the run undisciplined. However, he is far better at coverage, but not as good as Davis.

I am not advocating for Alex to start... I’d like to see Baun play against CAR, but the true need for us it to get healthy on the D line again.

Edit:
Most of you seem to be short sighted... this D ranked 7th during our worst stretch (first 4 games). This defense has been solid when they don’t commit penalties and allow hidden yards. Since those first 4 games you could argue our next worse would be the last 3 games, all of which Kwon started and we allowed gashing runs... again not all him.

Those of you praising Kwon are the same ones calling for DAs head during the first 4 games of the season. Clueless then, clueless now.

The Saints are 0-42 when running the ball less than 15 times in a game.

I think it would be unfair for us to create a Anzalone screwup mixtape. We could but what a waste of time. Just go back and watch the games.
I wouldn’t do that because I’m trying to focus on the positive for him.
He’s our only hope at this point.

I'm not sure which TD you're referring to, but on that one from practically the goalline - I'm pretty sure Irv Smith Jr was Davis' responsibility.
