I just want to say that he's my sub LB on Madden and he wrecks there.

I'm not exactly the biggest Anzalone fan but he's been pretty consistent all year... better than Kwon as some have pointed out. The difference IMO is the energy Kwon brings which isn't measured in stats.

Stats aside, I noticed a marked improvement in the ENTIRE defense when Kwon came aboard. PFF can't measure that. It also leads me to think Anzalone's teammates possibly don't trust him.

Exactly.

Saints need to find a capable back up in case Alex goes down as we enter post season. I love Craig R but he's too slow and nothing more than a special teamer at this point of his career.

Demario won't be able to roam now that Kwon is out.

And how did you come up with that stretch of a conclusion? Perhaps it had something to do with facing four straight abysmal opponents in his (Alexander's) first four games (SF, ATL, DEN, ATL).

Well, several reasons but for one, Anzalone’s playing time decreased with each week. He couldn’t cover passing routes. He couldn’t blitz. He missed too many assignments.

Would you trust him?

I'm not a part of that tight brotherhood of a team. As far as I know neither are you. I can't get inside any of their minds to declare that they do not trust him.

As far as I can remember pretty much every defensive player on our team has missed an assignment here or there. Everyone one of them have missed a tackle. Every one of them that had coverage duties has been burned on routes.

As a player you HAVE to trust your teammates. It's easy for a fan to lose that trust. Players, however, are not fans. They do not have your thought process.

“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” — Winston Churchill

Guido, "missed an assignment here or there" does not accurately describe Anzalone's play on the field and you know it. My point is a player who can't play well enough becomes a guy you can't trust on the field.

The fact he was phased out and replaced is enough for us to at least infer that coaches couldn't trust him.
