Wouldn't surprise me to see the Saints go for another O lineman in the 2022 draft. IMO we need better backups as well.

Outside of Ram and McCoy are 3 BIG question marks!

Not relevant yet but I don't wa t Russell Wilson in a Sai to uniform next year. I think you'll be paying premium prices but a quickly diminishing product. I know he has partly checked out of Seattle by the looks of things but the one thing you always saw from him was a impressive deep ball and multiple times this season I have seen that ball slow up or be a couple of yards short on deeper throws. That arm is seemingly starting to decline already, either that or he just doesn't care in Seattlr anymore.

Right. + Seattle will want serious draft capital & a legit starter for Russ.

I'd target Jameis W in 2022, Ian B & go from there ...

I’m with you 100%. We can get this offense humming again real quick. Sign a pass-catching TE in free agency and draft a top-tier WR.

Must address O line. Peat has to be gone. Armstead, bargain contract or gone. Ruiz - can he fare better with a solid group around him or did we draft a backup center in round 1?

Ruiz is only 22, so I still have plenty of hope that he can develop into a good lineman.

Same here. I have always heard that an offensive line isn't a position but a single unit that grows stronger the longer they are together. The way we've rotated linemen in and out this season it makes it near impossible to grow. Read that Ruiz is the only Saints offensive lineman to have played 100% of the snaps this season.

Lol,

C'mon, guys, Ruiz is an awful lineman. Are we watching the same player?? His entire body of work in 2021 was bad. This off-season, you bring in guys and try to replace (upgrade) him. I wouldn't rule out drafting a guard in the mid-rounds. See Nicks, Evans, McKoy (late 2nd).

To say this guy is about as healthy as you can get, makes me think of how little contact he is making with opponents on a weekly basis. He's not plowing anyone, no lower body strength. Just a bunch of "whiffs".

Drafting Ruiz in the first was an absolute reach.

The only thing Ruiz does effectively is make Andrus Peat look good.

Bad body language too. He looked pissed off at Ian & was actively assisting in getting that guy hurt (see Brees, Trevor S). Based on his performances, you could find a 2nd tier guard & not see much drop-off.

We didn't need a center & he hasn't developed into a guard. Lost in space.

Dress it up all you want but the Saints missed badly with the talent evaluation of Cesar Ruiz.

Just saying they may see something you don't because he's started every snap this season. If he was so horrible couldn't he be replaced by any warm body on the roster or on the street? I heard David Diehl (former Giants OT) say it's very difficult to evaluate an offensive lineman from the outside because you don't know who's missing assignments, them or the guy (or guys) beside them.
