Oh man, I was wondering where you were,
... you're like our resident B&G Hockey Group analyst/play-by-play guy, the rest of us are 'color commentators',
... it totally slipped my mind that you were on a different viewing schedule ... I remember living in the Philippines & my family calling to tell me the Lions won or something & it driving me crazy because I hadn't seen the game yet ... hope we didn't mess it up the playoffs for you ... and anyway, if you happened to see any of my 'predictions', I was mostly wrong,
.
You know, now that you mention it, with the exception of Det/Nash, Phi/Pit and maybe one other Flyer series, I can't think of a series that was that physical ... I think early on in the playoffs (first round) when VP Shanahan started handing out suspensions & clamping down on rough play, it had an effect on the play the rest of the way ... teams didn't want to end up losing a player for a game or two in a series. Yikes! Is the NHL in danger of becoming World Cup hockey?
... not that I don't admire the larger ice surfaces and superior skating/passing skills of the European game, it's the 'gladiator' mentality of the NHL that we all tune in for, like the old games in the Coliseum,
