And Gronk and others...I think.

How was Brees the same? Is this just your weird hate for the guy or did I miss something?

Jamie appears to be inaccurate. Mac is a possiblity, but is projected to be drafted earlier by NE.

Don't forget what's left of Gronk! as well.

Pushing or asking for players is a whole different ballgame then asking for a GM or head coach.

Mac has looked really good thus far @ the Senior bowl. If he keeps it up, he could be a top 15 pick.

From his tape at Bama, he can make the NFL throws in very small windows.

Too bad we have no "shot" at Zach Wilson. His pocket presence/awareness extends a lot of drives.

Ahhh, it's draft time again .

I think a lot of the teams with QB needs ahead of us in the draft will be taken care of via trades and free agency. Teams will trade for Watson and Stafford, and I also think the Patriots will make a trade to bring back Jimmy Garoppolo. Mac Jones probably won’t last until our pick, but he’ll be within striking distance with a small trade-up.

Thank you, that video says what I am saying, there aren't many scenarios that get you under the cap, that video is one scenario with many optional steps.... Listing 30 people to be restructured is not 30 ways to get under the cap lol.

You didn't pay attention to the point where he mentions being $20M under with only 39 players and with no BU QB I might add? That is as you put it "with minimal casualty"?

His train of restructures and releases leaves you $20M under cap with:

No BU QB
No BU Center
12 more players short a full roster
No Practice squad (Yes they fall under the cap)
Free agency
Teams generally like to start a season with around $4M minimum to allow them to fill openings that come from injury.

You over extend your understanding by saying "It can be done with minimal casualty", then call people silly. Once pressed you retreat under an 'I am not a salary cap expert shield'... Proclaiming Loomis is the expert and it is his job. The salary cap is a number and there is no 'salary cap expert', there are only people very good as finding new ways to make things work.

Payton qb's have to have pocket presence. Stafford ? Winston, if Winston could cut his int's in half could be good, cannon arm and has wheels. Draft?

Take a chill pill, Oak. I’m not trying to fight with anybody. I never called anyone silly either. I said looking at a 5 Year rebuild plan is silly. I don’t think Payton or Loomis is looking at a 5 year plan. I shared a link to one video detailing a way out of the cap mess everyone says the Saints are in. I watched a different one with Underhill talking about how the Saints have mastered “kicking the can down the road” and he wasn’t as worried about the cap as others. Pardon me.

This thread started about getting Watson or not. I firmly said no primarily on a) not losing needed draft picks and b) not fitting his contract into the team’s cap mess. I’m not saying it’s easy. I’m just saying I don't expect a big collapse that requires a multi-year rebuild plan.

Interesting thoughts Chris. Taking pulse of fans and media around here, I would surprised if they brought Jimmy G back though. stranger things have happened though.
