Re: Deshawn Watson.... should we?
If we are looking to acquire a Brees substitute in free agency and continue rotating in Taysom as an extra QB weapon like we did this year with Brees, I have a much cheaper and realistic option than Stafford - Fitzmagic.
Fitzmagic has the pro experience and enough left in his arm. His mileage/hits taken isn't as high because he's been a backup for various parts of his career. He's also never played for an offense or a coach this adept; in fact he's been with a lot of sorry teams. Could possibly be a Rich Gannon/Raiders type situation where he gives us a peak year or two as a veteran. If we are looking for this kind of a player to fill the Brees void, could do a lot worse. |

I’m 100% certain we’re rolling with Jameis next season.
The Dolphins will trade Tua and multiple high picks for Watson. The 49ers will trade for Stafford. |

Re: Deshawn Watson.... should we?
The Texans are a mess and have been for years. Watson would get the nod over Winston simply because he is better at taking care of the ball and wil run to pick up yards. The Bill O’Brien experiment was a disaster.
If it could be done within reason, I would love to see what SP could do with him. |

Maybe Lee. I’m not a cap expert. I’m pretty sure Loomis and company are though.

Re: Deshawn Watson.... should we?
They are of course
But we have seen the way the run things, there never really much space. Not that that is a bad thing, the problem is what happened this year wasn't and couldn't be account for, everyone was expected a relatively big jump in cap this year or next. You can see they expected to be able to do it with Brees, Alexander, Cooks contract all being able to open the space. We will see though. |
