It wasn't a spinal injury, however. Just some of the transverse processes were fractured. While calling it a "broken back" it is not as serious as that sounds.

Transverse process is a small bony projection off the right and left side of each vertebrae. The two transverse processes of each vertebrae function as the site of attachment for muscles and ligaments of the spine as well as the point of articulation of the ribs (in the thoracic spine).

While very painful they are not "career ending". No more so that a broken finger. There is no danger to the spinal cord itself from these injuries at all from everything I have read.

Not ball breaking, just curious: Do you Google your medical commentary or do you have a medical background Guido? When you talk about injuries, you talk in nuanced details that a lay person wouldn't normally know.

Just asking.

A little of both. I worked for 17 years with a health insurance company as a business and systems analyst and also with a medical records software department in software development. I have spent many an hour researching clinical data over the years. I've also been dealing with vertebrae issues (facet joint arthritis) personally for the past ten years. My wife is also a RNC and for the past fifteen years or so a medical malpractice claims adjustor. I hear all kinds of stuff from that arena.

I actually asked my spine and back specialist at one of my quarterly appointments specifically about Jameis' injury and he gave me a brief rundown and told me what to look for online.

Lol.

Some people like to mimic things others have said on Twitter or XM radio  and then post it here to sound as if they actually "know" what's best for the franchise and team.

Braggart, egotist type.

Saintfan nailed it.

I’ve never thought Eli Manning was the sharpest tack in the tool shed..., but there he is at 39! Bottom line, if you feel Winston is lacking in any intellectual manner, then Mr. Brees is right there with him.

A written test and decision making under pressure are not the same.

The Wonderlic isn't a written test. It is a multiple choice test designed to measure quick decision making. It consists of 50 problems to be solved inside of 12 minutes. That's pressure, don't you think?

Here's a 25 question practice test you can check out.

:D

Correct.

We should see something this week after he's released IMHO. If Saints sign him, we draft a QB next year, other than a late 6th or 7th rounder. The class next year is arguably better . Which one would you draft from this list below?
