If he was lacking 'something' perhaps it was SP being a 'Nervous Nelly' keeping the playbook vanilla during those first 7 starts... or maybe some weak links in the OL... or maybe even a lack of consistent WR talent to spread the field? I'll take that 14 TD/ 3 INT guy any day over what we've been struggling with since we were 5-2!

I honestly still don't get why some of us are so lukewarm to JW. The guy has does nothing but be a model QB for the Saints AD (After Drew). That and give us a good chance at getting some W's (when he's not trying to eat them)! What are guys looking for from him?
I wouldn't say that tbh. You put Winston back there with that O-line and he's going to have the same problems. The injuries to the o-line and Alvin Kamara is what caused the downward spiral. It didn't matter what QB we threw in there cause it seem like they always had a rusher almost instantaneously in their face. It's really not fair to compare the two situations.

I think that with our severe limitations on offense on the roster, a QB needs some strong extra dimension to get anything going on offense. Semien and Book probably lack that dimension, though Book is hard to evaluate because of everyone absent during his start. Winston has the extra dimension of his deep ball, Hill of his scrambling. Both help offset lack of receiving talent. But Hill is older and his extra dimension is one bound to get him injured, and less likely to be used as much if we get better receivers. Winston, although victim to an unfortunate injury, projects to be healthier and more reliable than Hill and to have more upside than Hill if we get better receivers. I think Hill and Winston are probably equal with a depleted offense where they have to do it all on their own, but Winston is the better option to build an elite offense around. We don't know Hill couldn't produce a 14:3 TD:INT ratio with the crap receivers but healthier oline Winston had, but we do know Winston did produce that ratio.
