Not sure what 'OK' is in your book, but he was defintely head and shoulders better than what followed his injury. If he was lacking 'something' perhaps it was SP being a 'Nervous Nelly' keeping the playbook vanilla during those first 7 starts... or maybe some weak links in the OL... or maybe even a lack of consistent WR talent to spread the field? I'll take that 14 TD/ 3 INT guy any day over what we've been struggling with since we were 5-2!

I honestly still don't get why some of us are so lukewarm to JW. The guy has does nothing but be a model QB for the Saints AD (After Drew). That and give us a good chance at getting some W's (when he's not trying to eat them)! What are guys looking for from him?

I don’t know either, man. He was doing fine to me. The coaches and the team loves the guy. So that is all that matters. The team also had a different vibe with him. 14/3 with the same guys that Hill and Trevor had. Multiple TD passing games, scoring through out the game not this goose egg til late in the game comeback when the opposing defense is playing prevent scoring, and winning against good teams. I want him back.

2022 Free Agency & the draft is gonna be fun ...

QB, OL (G), WR1, WR2, TE ... we need them all.

Preach! I hope he is our starter next year.

Hitta,

Sean Payton is in the business of winning football games. Trevor is a career backup. He'll come in and keep you in a game but he is not going to win a significant number of games with.

You won't see him under center again as a Saints starter.

It's time to re-focus your attention on the QB position elsewhere in 2022.

I don’t see us doing anything in free agency besides re-signing Jameis and Marcus Williams. It’s imperative that we draft some playmakers. We don’t have the QB anymore to just rely on undrafted WR’s.

My family, season ticket holders for decades, hasn’t attended a game since. Some still watch, although with a lot less enthusiasm. My only connection to the NFL is to pay enough attention to discuss the Saints with my mother, who isn’t giving up on her 55 years of Saints quite yet.

This year has only fortified the impression that the NFL seeks to influence games while maintaining the plausible deniability of “incompetent” referees.

Unfortunately, I now don’t believe Superbowl XLIV was real either. The Saints were brief benefactors of the NFL machinations because of Katrina.

Life is certainly better without the emotional high and low of really being invested in being a Saint’s fan but, just like when you discover Santa Claus isn’t real, Christmas and fall just aren’t the same.

I was a fool, but a happy fool. I am a little jealous of the folks who can’t see what I see.

Good to see you post again. Every time I hear you on the radio, I think about Big Woodrow’s and the fun times.

The world has moved on.

Cheers and happy new year.
I know just what you mean about football not being a sport anymore and how it took away the enthusiasm from wondering how the games would it end. Now the NFL is "entertainment" with a parallel to wrestling. It's fun to watch but the game is choreographed toward a predetermined conclusion.

What gets me is that gambling became legal after it was introduced as entertainment not sports. What people bet on a game where the refs can't make the correct call and it often changes the outcomes of the games? Not me. SMH

Somehow, we are 7-8 and still in contention. We also have some greatly building pieces going forward. If we can keep the defense intact, we can fix the offense in the offseason. I don't know who the QB of the future is(I personally like Trevor Siemian a whole lot), but our first priority is skill position players. Second priority is shoring up our porous line that has been decimated by injuries. Maybe get a TE in there somewhere. We get those pieces, not even thinking about the QB, and we are competing for a SB. We have to do some long thinking and evaluation about the QB position, because that will determine if we can get to our goal and hoist the lombardy after we take care of the above mentioned issues. I personally like Trevor Siemian. I think Hill could be good too. I think Book has potential but he's waaaay too raw and it could be several years before it's ready for him to see the field. Winston played ok before injury, but I felt he lacked something. I feel like our whole fan base is down in the dumps, but all I see is a path to something great, especially with that defense. We had a down year, so what. To win in the NFL requires slow progression towards the goal and smart timely moves. Things may seem like we are down, but we are heading up. We have a great defense and a great offensive coach. That's a recipe to balance things out really quickly.
If a Coaching Staff has to pull a season out of their ass, that's some bad management. Big Money Management has to PLAN for ass-wipe conditions, ahead of time. If a Fan has no problem watching and paying for seasons getting pulled out of the Coaching Staff's ass, that's a special type of Fan I guess. ENJOY THE GAME!!!

Yes to all of this, and 'Saints AD' is brilliant and should be on a t-shirt.
