Re: Head Coach Search
I’m leaning towards Allen. But if they are not going to promote from within, I’d search through Pittsburgh’s team for ideas. They’ve maintained success
through changes in both coaches and QBs. Bottom line is the Steelers have NEVER really “sucked” for a stretch while I’ve been watching football. That’s a rare thing. Just a thought. |
Re: Head Coach Search
This has been a great discussion. It's almost like the excitement of draft time when I'm learning about the different prospects the members each like.
I was in disbelief when my twin brother told me that Sean Payton had retired as the Saints coach. I thought for sure that this was click bait like the Payton to Dallas nonsense each year. Jerry Jones and the Benson's ownership style is on opposite ends of the spectrum. Sean wants an owner who will step back and open up the check book for his vision. That's not Jerry Jones style at all. He is someone that is too hands on considering he has zero football knowledge. |

Re: Head Coach Search
I'm leaning toward Dennis Allen as the hire for continuity reasons. However, I always liked Leftwich. I remember a game in college where he was playing QB for Marshall and somehow injured his foot during a crucial drive in the game. His linemen picked him up and carried him down the field after he threw a completion so they could run the next play. You could see how much they respected him as a leader. That has always stuck with me.
