I would do everything I could to try getting Bryce Young some how. That process starts now I think. I'd start accumulating draft picks via trades and package them into better picks... trade those off and try to get the top pick next year. I think it is doable. Bryce Young is going to be special. He is Russell Wilson 2.0. I think he's going to have everything RW has but better. I also think BY is more calm and clutch.

I'm sure MT's market value is at the highest right now because he was injured though. Give him a good year on the field, then trade him. Tanking for Bryce I don't even think is a bad idea. It sets your franchise up for the long run. Right now we are set up to be stuck in the middle for a while, and I don't like that. We need to do something drastic to shake us out of mediocrity.

Mediocrity? We've won more games than all but one franchise over the past five years. How is that mediocrity?

Yes mediocrity. He said "set up to be stuck in the middle", and he's not wrong. He didn't say we've been in the middle for the last half-decade. Are you stupid or do you just like to start fights...or is it both?

9-8 is mediocrity. We don't have Brees. We need a QB really bad. Our players aren't getting younger. I think we need to start from the ground floor and build up again or we are going to be stuck in this phase. We need to find a QB and build around him. We may have to endure a couple of bad seasons. Without Payton, do you really think we are going to replicate the 9-8? Even if we replicate it, we are borderline playoff team with a very very small chance to win a title. We need to shake things up. You can't be eternally optimistic about everything. Sometimes you have to be pragmatic and approach the situation as it really is.

9-8 with the first full month being displaced by Hurricane Ida. 9-8 with an all-time record number of starters during a season due to injuries and COVID. 9-8 with the starting QB going down in the 7th game. 9-8 without arguably the best WR in the game and clutch placekicker for the entire season. 9-8 with 22 players out with COVID for a single game. 9-8 playing only seven games at home during a 17 game season.

Context is all important. 9-8 given all the team faced is far from mediocre. It is remarkable.

I respect what you think we should do, but I am relieved we have who we have making the actual decisions.

You don't respect anyone - even yourself. So then we're not talking about the last 5 years? Nice deflection/shift.

Poor little speedo and his ego.

It's really like he can't wrap his mind around it. I'm not talking about the last 5 years, I'm not even talking about the 9-8 season this year. When I look at what we have, the cap we have, and just the big picture in general we are kind of positioned to be stuck in mediocrity. We aren't going to have the team we had this year next year. The cap is not going to allow it. We aren't going to have the coach either(which Payton imo had one of his best coaching seasons this year dealing with all the crap). We are not in an ideal situation and we really need to do something to shake things up a bit. AG is one of those guys that thinks you can still win a game down 40 points with 5 seconds left to go. He probably literally sits there and is like "come on... we can do this". He has a hard time seeing the writing on the wall and just dismisses everyone along the way.

Well if you ask speedo the cap doesn't matter, but no reason to ask that idiot anyway.

I'm not happy Sean left, but I see it as opportunity. We need a fresh look at a few things maybe. I don't know. We have a find a QB that's for sure. I'd sell the farm for the right one. See Joe Burrow.
