Yeah, I think so. But we'd have to mortgage our future and probably lose a couple of our defensive stars to make it happen.

Watson has had 2 decent seasons and one really good one if you look at the stats. He will probably cost us 4-5 draft picks and 1-2 really good players.

And then we have all the offield stuff. Sure he won't be charged but that many accusations do raise some questions about his character.

I would be strongly against such a trade. I think it could cripple the franchise.

If you're right I'd sign off on it. We screw up the draft usually anyway.

But if we have to gut our defensive roster and give them those 3 firsts and Davenport or Lattimore or even CGJ I'm not sure I'd pull that trigger. Anybody we've already restructured would be a nightmare to recover from financially.

I saw their demand so I expect them to get a little less than what they’re asking for. They aren’t a good organization. We can probably end up sending two 1sts and maybe some 2nd rounders. That’s more than enough for him.

Understood. I really like Olave in the 1st round, but this is the kind of move that would make New Orleans a HUGE free agent destination for years to come.

While the Saints have certainly had nice 1st round picks within the last decade, there's also Stephone Anthony within those picks.

With Watson you can have a franchise QB for the next decade and more, which would allow the Saints to be in the fight for the next couple of seasons full throttle. After that they could retool for a couple of seasons and fight again with Watson under center.

Yes, this. He comes with baggage so it's reasonable that their pre-controversy demand of three firsts may be just be throwing something against the wall to see if it sticks. That only logical in a negotiation. But so is coming back with a lowball counter. That's probably what both New Orleans and Carolina did. As Major put it, due diligence. Why not give it a try. All they can say is no. But then again, he's doing them no good sitting another season.

Yeah I get that reasoning but there are no guarantees it will pan out. With the baggage tied to him I rather try and find a QB in the draft this year or one of the coming with those picks.

Maybe, but my bet is they're gonna want a player. Maybe we can swap that player for another mid round pick. A couple firsts and a couple seconds, imo, would be a steal.

Just thinking about Rogers love for Sean, now that he's gone maybe the League will lighten up a bit on us.
So we bring in Watson and we'll never get off the Black-List.
