I'm willing to bet another team is somewhere waiting in the bushes to make a splash trade for Watson.

Not sold on "this is down to two teams" talk & I got a feeling Watson's camp is using Tepper and the Panthers.

Only thing I do see is that Houston wants him out of the AFC. Probably why the Steelers opted to sign Trubisky today.

I have zero issues believing Tepper is all in on Watson. What else does he have, really? Rhule sucks. O line sucks. Defense is too young. RB can't stay on the field. No thanks.

We paid him and gave him opportunity, he was there when we needed and performed as we needed. Neither side owes the other but I am sure one side feels a little less ...shall we say... enamored with the other at this point.

Then there is the possibility that the Saints under bid on Watson to put pressure on Winston to come to terms.

This is a good example of why I do not have any faith in Allen after his press conference. He came out and drove home the point that he is an 'in the now' 'straight up' kind of guy... That makes him, by his own admission, a checker player in a game of chess.

My concern is his upcoming focus. 22 civil suits is an absolute **ckton of distraction and stress, those are not class action so he has to handle them independently. Depositions, accusations, every one in a city close enough for reporters to round trip in a day.

Probably also worth mentioning that a $150MM+ NFL QB went to see a masseuse in her home. Some might call that absolutely stupid and question his judgement. The big easy is not exactly a safe place for him lol.

I really don't think anybody wants Cooks back. Better off signing Landry. Thomas, Landry, and Callaway would be a damn good WR 1-3.

I kinda feel like it's Watson or bust, at this point. If we try to get him and fail, I think Jameis signs elsewhere or jacks up his price. I do think a deal is doable here, but we'd have to bite the bullet and trade some stuff that we may not want to trade. Ultimately, though, I think it's worth it.

I say this purely from a football standpoint, not a legal or moral standpoint.

Peat's contract has been restructured. There's no way we can absorb the cap hit with any player restructured this offseason.

I wouldn't rule out the name Davenport being mentioned in that "trade" scenario as well. He's young, talented but often injured.

Houston is willing to trade, however you will have to give up a good player & picks if you want Watson on your roster.

If you're so concerned about his legal situation, then why weren't you advocating for Kamara's outright release rather that celebrating his restructure, which, as you have noted ad nauseum makes him untradeable?

As far as for selling him on anything, he has already rejected all but Saints and Panthers. I'd book a meeting, if he shows, he is considering. He isn't coming out of college, he knows what New Orleans is. He has played against the Saints in New Orleans.

I can't believe we're not the front runners here. He basically wanted out of Houston because they were a poorly run losing franchise, right? Why would he want to go to ATL or Carolina which are pretty much the same. Us then Cleveland who is trending up.
