Do you rest Winston?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Injuries have zero to do with decision making. Surely if his throws were being affected, he'd check down to Kamara more, which he doesn't. (JUST RANTING)

I am tired of Winston holding the ball longer than expected for the big play or overlooking a wide open Kamara & Thomas just for a deeper route. Thomas & Kamara are known for their YAC (Winston not giving them opportunities). If you check down or get the ball out quicker the OL will develop better. The WRs play will be better. Check down and the Big Play will come (STOP TRYING TO FORCE IT DOWN FIELD). I am really missing Payton right now cause that risk it or no biscuit mindset will not be in Winston mindset.

I would rest him permanently. I knew when the Saints picked him up it would be a disaster. Life after Brees was going to suck. I was very disappointed when the Saints picked him up instead of going all out to draft someone. I always looked forward to the saints playing against him. It's his MO and the only reason they won any games was because of the defense and run game

He needs to sit. If MaCoy and Peat are out or hurt then it’s only going to get worse for Winston from an injury standpoint. Could risk losing him for the season. Not that I care because the dude sucks. Another interception at the dome and fans are going to turn on him.

Here's a link to the Landry play.

Guy is tough as nails and it did look nasty when he went down. Happy he is in black and gold.

Thanks! Not seeing where the throw caused the injury however. Do you, Geaux? Looks like he threw it low and away from the defender where only the receiver could get to it. Brees was great at that.

From that angle, no I can't say the throw cause the injury. I mean the corner was on his outside shoulder, so if he lead him, Landry could of gotten his head torn off. Then again from a endzone view maybe Winston had plenty of time the throw earlier in the route idk.

I think the main subject of this conversation is, if Winston should rest and I think he does. Poor decision making and health are causing a lot of problem for this O. Now, it's unfair to blame everything on Winston. The o-line play has not been the greatest, neither has the play calling. I'm sure everyone here is saying run on 1st, run on 2nd, pass on 3rd. You can't beat nfl teams like that, but o-line play also goes hand in hand on quick decision making by the QB. Our O is big on that and that's why TB had success when Brees went down. Winston has not shown that in his entire career. Neither have any of the Qb's listed on our roster.

This bring me to this. This whole situation we are in, is a complete mismanagement by the whole organization. As much as I love Brees and I still wear jersey every game day, he was done the last two years of his career. Qb should of been top priority. After missing on Mahomes, we complete whiffed on getting Lamar Jackson and he was right there. We never looked at QB until Book who will forever be a back up.

DA never wanted Winston as his QB, but was forced to bring him back because he is familiar with the O and wanted a smooth transaction. Well that's not working so something has to change and I think that starts with sitting Winston so he can heal and see what happens with Dalton.

Can't disagree with most of that.

3:34, this is pure Jameis.

Defender comes through on the blitz, so he leans right and throws left back across the field, defender drops a pick 6.

What is 3:34? According to play by play Carolina's offense had the ball at the 3:34 point of all four quarters. Or do you mean something else?
