The bartender says, "Whoa fellas, you have to show us a Super Bowl Championship ring to drink alcohol at this bar"!

Payton shows his ring and says, "I called "Ambush, I'll have a hurricane".

Reid shows his ring and says "I've already got one with Mahomes and more sure to come. Another Hurricane"

Lombardi shows one of his rings and says "They named the trophy after me! Hurricane as well"

Bill pulls up his hoodie, holds up both hands and shows them all off. "Hurricane sounds good" he says.

The bartender, Impressed with the show of jewelry turns to Allen expectantly and says, "What'll you have?".

Allen says "I'll have a Diet Coke. After this season I'm just the Uber driver".
It's too long. Just stick to the one liners that have Allen and Belichick in the same sentence.

One win doesn't mean he can coach. It means we have a talented roster but DA doesn't know how to use them. Buh bye!

IF, (I don't expect or predict this) we finish 8-9 that will be one game worse than we finished last year. Whatever coaching mistakes Allen has made, you can't convince me that bad ref calls/injuries/maybe TOs (things outside his control) didn't hand us 2 losses.

So, I'd not immediately can Allen should we end up 8-9.

Some say Bill Belichick has accomplished all he can as an NFL coach and it would not be a surprise if ownership nudged him toward retirement this offseason, and the same goes for Dennis Allen.

"Some" are not the ones making those decisions. I'm not saying I would be upset if Allen does lose his job, especially if it means the return of Sean Payton, but given the circumstances surrounding this season I do not see any other scenario where Gayle Benson and Mickey Loomis would decide to make that move after only one season.

Just look at the example given by "some" here of Dan Campbell. Yes, he is currently seeing a level of success with his Lions team, but as Boston pointed out, he started out his time with Detroit going 4-19-1 as head coach and fans were calling for his head, as well.

A rash of injuries to key positions will do that to a team. But, until we are eliminated from playoff contention I personally do not label it as a failure. A disappointment, sure. A failure, no.

Dennis Allen’s job is safe with the Saints

FWIW, this is a Jeff Duncan article.
