Offense:

Dennis Allen. Head coach. Allen had another abysmal season as a head coach after failing with the Raiders in his first attempt. He's a good DC but he's in way over his head as a Head coach.

Dennis Allen - F
Pete Carmichael - F

DA is a failed Head coach who has failed in his second stint. He's clearly over his head and his brand of football is to play it "safe" on Sundays. We started Andy most of the season because he is "safe" & scores almost no points.

The Saints front office looks like they are going straight to acceptance.

Dennis took a team that went 9-8 with a hurricane, 4 different QBs, ZERO WR's to a team with GOOD WR's and argubly the most GODAWFUL conservative game planning (Pete C) I've ever seen in modern-day football.

The result was 7-10. If anyone truly believes the "light bulb" is coming on in 2023 for DA is in for a letdown.

Again, 2023 could be rough.

At no point did he ever tell his team to "Just keep doing what you're doing" as you have been claiming.

All that said, once again, I repeat, I am no particular fan of Dennis Allen, but I'm not making **** up to discredit the man.

Maybe it was Kodi Burns who has had the impact on Juwan. I know TE's also spend time in the WR room since they occasionally line up at that position on the field. Taysom has talked about that before.

Yup. Pederson made the right choice, for sure. Trevor Lawrence is the real deal. We could have won five more games with him under center.

1st year with a brand new team, improved a 2nd year QB & is still alive in a AFC divisional round playoff game on Sunday.

Not to mention he has skins (Philly) on the wall. Doug was my initial choice.

Saints elected to go "in house" & a lazy hire of Dennis Allen.

Figures

While I resigned to accept DA, I too wanted Doug. The local connections notwithstanding made a compelling argument along with his very recent resume.

Unfortunately, Dennis Allen will never be the man. History has proven that to be true. But he's got one more season to turn that around. Good luck with that.

Side note, Kris Richard actually has more DC experience than RN.

The model of having two DC with Allen retaining play-calling responsibility is a mess.

Re: Evaluating Coaches

Regardless of the overall lack of success from the 2022 Saints, the defense under Dennis Allen and his coordinators bordered upon elite. Only the offense's inability to keep a drive going placed a burden on a defense that held their opponents to 20 or less in nine of their final 10 games, including four of 10 or less. It's no wonder the co-coordinators are both getting this level of interest.

Well, there goes all the good coaches. We’re really gonna suck next year.

Re: Evaluating Coaches

It's rather ironic that the year we played so poorly is the year that we are seeing so many of our coaches interviewed and put forth into the Limelight at the Senior Bowl. We wondered for years when they would begin to poach our staff. If Sean Payton takes anybody with him the Saints will be left with a skeleton crew of coaches!

Good for him. I've been following him since his days at my old school NC State. I also love that Cam called them the Failcons.

Lol.

Never understood the "Co-Defensive coordinator" thing with Allen either.

Kris Richard is probably already packed and ready to go.

The Saints are a mess & once again, Dennis Allen gets an F.

Probably a good choice, but whomever they do name will be defensive coordinator in name only. Dennis Allen appears to still run the defensive side of the ball and retains all of the playcalling duties. Nielsen and Richard were both basically defensive assistances executing the same duties as before their "promotions". Their titles as "co-coordinators" seemed more window dressing than anything else. Still looks good on the resume, of course.

And also not a shocker why Nielson and Richards are moving on or want to move on.

Probably not a shocker to the Saints either. We all know Loomis is loyal to his staffs. Putting them in position to get better jobs is just part of that. Moving on is their best chance at eventually working their way up to that head coaching position.
