Jameis is probably a gone pecan.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jake Luton takes up the #2 spot.

Especially, since we seldom roll with three LB'ers in the starting lineup and have other glaring holes to fill with our limited cap space.

Lol :p !

I want to believe but with the signing of DCarr, probably not happening.

It looks like we made an offer to keep Jameis in New Orleans. He is a pocket passer and we wouldn't have to change the play book when he's in the game if Carr misses time.

Is he better than Strief, I wonder.

Evans was credited with helping bring Ruiz along last off-season. I like the bit about teaching Ruiz to better use his hands which was a strength of Jahri's. And also expecting even a larger jump in Ruiz's performance this coming season. IF Peat can stay healthy our offensive line will be imposing. Somewhat reminiscent of those lines on which Jahri was a mainstay.

I don't know how to evaluate DA just yet. This year he seems to be making the right moves and getting the team ready for a run. We are all in!(pushes all the chips in the pot)

I think he made good Decisions last year when it came to Oliva, Taylor, and Rashieed. Jury is still out on TP.

From what I've been told Dennis Allen isn't the final decision maker on the draft as was Sean Payton. I was told he definitely has "a say" in the matter, but "not as much say as Sean". I would give most of the credit to Ireland and Loomis as for the draft.

Here is a coach evaluation to consider….

It took Allen 16 games to get 7 wins with the Saints.

It took Allen 23 games to get 7 wins with the Raiders.

That’s improvement 🤞

Thanks. That's one of my favorites that he wrote. If you ever get to Nashville let me know. He performs on Broadway six or seven times a week. Mostly country, but he'll sing anything you request ... for the right tip. ;)

His music is on all of the normal music sites. iTunes, Amazon Music, etc. Just search for his name.

He has five other songs on the EP with that one and another single.

You should hear him sing Leon Helm's Hurricane. I want him to record it someday. I request it most shows we make it to. The Band of Heathens did a cover of it back in 2011.

Re: Evaluating Coaches

Man, I really like what the front office has done this off season. I'm not sure if DA and Carmichael know what to do with the new influx of talent. They struggled last year without our top tier talent after injuries decimated the team again. Good coaches don't need a stocked roster to win. Ask Payton.

Here's to hoping the new coaching additions can shake up the play calling, which was stale at best.

It's time to move on from the old play book that Payton built and find something fresh that works for us.

Hey, on the bright side, that bum Dan Roushar was fired and apparently he was the only problem that needed fixing.

I guess we're going to find out in 2023. Injuries are going to happen to all 32 teams.

Quality depth is the name of the game. Ask Philly, San Fran, Cincy or KC.

Every time you trade up teams give up a later depth selection and that has really hurt us rently. We don't have good depth because we trade away those later picks to move up for a particular player who is often injured. We seem to be stuck in a can't win mode of operations.

You can just as easily build some depth with UDFA's as you can with 6th and 7th rounders. What killed us the past couple of years was not only did we lose starters to injury, we also lost their replacements to injury. We were down to third stringers and special teamers starting. Nobody in the league can go that deep without suffering the consequences. And we lost the most important position, starting QB. I know some might say SF did, too, but did they lose 3/4th's of their offensive line and three of their top WR's, as well? No. No they didn't.

There's not a team in the league that can cover that type of loss of starters AND backups and compete.

Then either the turf, training program, or strength and conditioning has to be at fault.

I say dumb luck. We weren't the only team that was hit with the injury bug last year. Back in 2009 we had the luck on our side. Hopefully that luck returns this season.

Re: Evaluating Coaches

We consistently post a record number of backups starting for injured players. We're going to need a bigger hot tub if we can't stop these rash of injuries from happening again. Something has to give, and I hope it's not our players health again.
