Yes, there are holes. Every team has holes to fill at this time of year. The bulk of free agency hasn't even started yet and the draft is still 50 days away. Plenty of time, and opportunity, to fill those holes. |

Not sure if this has been stated but Carr's contract is for $60M guaranteed. of course he could earn more but we got him for $30MM a year basically

Re: New Orleans Saints signing quarterback Derek Carr to four-year deal
My nephew grew up in Bay area and has been a Raiders fan all his life. He thinks it will be a good move for us. Apart from Carr never having played with a good D, he points out that he will likely thrive in a Dome environment. Oakland (I’ve been there myself) frequently had blackouts and poor field conditions with iffy weather. Trading that in for the SD should make him more comfortable.

Re: New Orleans Saints signing quarterback Derek Carr to four-year deal
Several quality players are getting released because of the way their caps are managed. Releasing players is their way of creating cap space. The Saints, and now several other teams, structure the contracts in a way to keep those players AND create cap space. Personally I'd rather keep good players WHILE being able to add free agents.
