To a man every single one of them stress that players and coaches alike give it all they have to win every week regardless of other factors. Every game for them is a real job interview going forward. They also consistently insist that the whole concept of quitting is a fan generated concept, as is the whole tanking concept.
For us, tanking is not just a concept. Watch.

Right.

This team doesn't have to "tank", they are bad and poorly coached .

I have no idea. Of course, no one here does. As much time as you spend on researching all things New Orleans Saints I'm sure you've heard that a couple of ex-Buckeyes and a certain RB are all but checked out. No certainties here. just rumblings.

What you hear from your rumblings don't mean ****.

I can only off what I have heard and read from literally hundreds of players and coaches over the years.

That's why I started with the qualifier that no one here knows what's going on behind the scenes. We can judge by effort on and off the field and behaviors (like not returning phone calls to the team).
It's just a forum, man. We all have opninons.

Okay. I'll amend my statement of saying every single player would be trying their best. There are probably isolated players across the entire league that are too immature or stupid to listen to their agents and end up devaluing their marketability to teams across the league.

I think Dennis Allen and Mickey Loomis have checked out and given up. I think Antonio Brown was more committed to the team at every moment during his tenures with both the Oakland Raiders and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers than DA and Loomis are to the Saints. They are just going through the motions and punching a clock so they can cash their checks. Loomis signed Carr and gave him tons of money because it locked up our salary cap and minimized our flexibility, leaving less work for him because few other transactions or moves would be possible other than simple base salary restructures, with no flexibility there are no tough decisions. Loomis frequently trades away our draft picks so the draft does not keep him off his precious golf course or away from the precious stocked cooler in his golf cart for 3 straight days. Those guys are max checked out. Guys like Kamara and Olave are probably the ones mostly coaching the team.

Demario Davis is more or less our de facto coach at this point, albeit without any decision making power.

Re: Week 17 - Bucs vs Saints

For anyone else (besides myself) who watches difference makers on Sundays ...

Dave Canales - Bucs offensive coordinator.

What did Todd Bowles do last year? Hired a new OC & elevated their offense & QB. Meanwhile our substitutes made no changes ("keep doing what you're doing") & kept the same, predictable 2012 offense. Hence the sub .500 record, getting embarassed on Sundays & on the brink of post season elimination .

Look at what he's done for Geno Smith & now Baker Mayfield in a short period of time. Not saying Dave is in line for a HC job, but if the Saints want to improve offensively, you need a young (42), innovative guy like this. If the Saints & Mickey Loomis are paying attention, I'd move on from Doug Marrone as well. Our O line stinks.

Coaching still matters. Even at this level
