If he doesn't see a down all year then that would mean that we had one hell of a year and Sedrick Ellis will hands down win Rookie of the year, because if Ellis's impact is so meaningful that Porter is strictly returning punts(he also doubles as pr/kr), and we are winning with MM, Young, David, and Gay then Ellis will have made the difference.

But anyway, How can you say he doesn't fit in to our secondary. He is not as physical-we don't need him to be. He specializes in man coverage where he blankets recievers making it hard for them to catch passes. We don't need him for run support. He is a speed demon that specializes in man coverage-he is exactly what we need.

The other thing you mentioned was that the reason we didn't pickup Flowers was because we were waiting for the giants to respond to the Shockey trade. The Saints new that The Shockey Trade wasn't gonna happen before the draft. The Giants wanted a first round pick. So we knew what was going on. Porter wasn't a pick we just through out at the last second. Or you so set on Shockey that you would give up Ellis-that's what the Giants wanted a number 1.

Porter >>> Flowers. I promise you he is better for our defense. Flowers absolutely brings the noise (YES) but Porter is exactly the man 2 man guy we need. He has tremendous change of direction and speed. He can be a starter. Especially if JD keeps getting burned.. Gay can play nickel and it all depends of McKenzie's health.. I like Usama Young but Porter is better.

I'm very happy. I said the Saints were looking at Porter along time ago. I was right. LOL

what perfect way to mentor young corners but to get a veteran in the for training camp. You got a vet in training camp because Mckenzie might not be ready. Glenn would have to do some amazing things like returning kicks to make this team now.

You know what else made me smile a little today-Carolina getting Stewart and not Mendenhall. I wouldn't like to face Mendenhall 2wice a year.

Disappointed? Not in the least! I'm thrilled!

The Saints got it right. They got the stud DT they needed. They got some help in the secondary. And they didn't spend any capital on offensive players on the first day.

A definite 'A' draft so far. All smiles from...

Re: Has disappointment set in?

Aaron Glenn is a great pickup; why?

First, he gives you flexibility by allowing Randall Gay, who can also play Safety, to move around in the Backfield.

Second, while he is not the top flight physical talent, he's a veteran who gives peace of mind considering Jason David's first season trying to adjust to a different team as well as McKenzie missing training camp with his knee injury...

Third, he's a playmaker; you can't coach playmaking, no matter how many times Farmer Fran simulates a fumble on the ground yellin' "Getet Getet Getet"

What bothers me is that we don't have that high round third to grab some very good DT's still hanging around in R3...

R4 pick should turn out to be an excellent deal for Vilma; always liked Vilma...

Maybe we can package remaining picks and still make some noise...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
