Greg Williams on ESPN First Take..
Coach Williams made a comment on a Nashville radio show that we would be coming after Manning like we did Favre and Kurt.
The debate was that he said he wouldn't mind seeing Peyton getting knocked down and not get back up. Stupid ass Skip gayless said he should get fined for making those comments. I doubt he will get fined. Look, maybe he should have not made those comments but our D is aggressive and I fully expect us to knock Mannings ass on the ground every chance we get. |

Re: Gregg Williams suggests the Saints want to injure Manning
Well Manning won't be retiring any time soon. When about to be hit Manning always drops to the ground prior to the hit any way. He just needs to precieve he is going to be hit and down he goes. I don't approve of saying you are going to try to take someone out of the game. Perhaps Gregg was referring to taking Manning our of his game. This is quite different then hurting him.

Greg's comments -
"This guy's got a great clock in his head. The big thing is that he throws the ball so early that we're going to have to do a good job of finding ways to get to him and when we do get to him we're going to have to make sure he gets a couple 'remember me' shots when we get there." "When you put too much of that type of worry on a warrior's mind, he doesn't play all out. If it happens, it happens. And the only thing you'd like for me to say is that if it happens you hope he doesn't get back up and play again." I don't see what the big deal is about these comments - in the first paragraph he is complimenting Manning. In the second, that last sentence is a hypothetical statement, he didn't come out and say "We're going after Manning and our goal is to injure him". He just alluded that it could possibly happen - which is true of any QB in any game. Comments are being taken out of context and regurgitated by people with IQ under 50 who have no better way to cover the Super Bowl now. |
