You may be on to something here JP. I read Rang's report on him (One of my favorites) and being that he compared JW's upside to Vince Wilfork damn sure got my attention...

Must do a better job of protecting his knees as he is susceptible to cut blocks. Too often raises his pad level at the snap, negating some of his power and making him all the more vulnerable to cuts, as he possesses only moderate flexibility.

Has to do a better job of getting his hands up in passing lanes as he rarely gets home as a pass rusher (just three passes broken up in 25 career starts at Alabama).

Plays with good effort but lacks lateral agility and struggles to knock down ballcarriers with any room to maneuver.

COMPARES TO: Vince Wilfork, New England Patriots -- Like the Patriots' run-stuffing nose guard, Williams isn't going to pressure the quarterback often but his size and strength will make him a force in the middle.

Ivory may be a goner. Bell is probably a practice squad candidate for a year or so.

We could also save 2.5 million by cutting PT, which I strongly disagree with.

So, the Saints would need to pick up a NT from the FA pool or would you be content with just Bunkley and Hicks... and maybe Tyrunn Walker (6-3, 294) as added depth, although he would need to bulk up and he might be a better DE?!

I'm not okay with drafting a running back with our 4th rounder. I'm not okay with drafting a running back period. Let's say Ivory is gone, hurt, or whatever. That still leaves us with Ingram/PT/Sproles/Cadet. No need to waste a pick on another back... just pick one up via UDFA or FA. Backup running backs are a dime a dozen and we've always done a good job finding hidden talent.

PT is the best screen back after All-Day in the business; that said, Saints brass may be looking to trim down the roster and Bell's size, blocking, and screen abilities are comparable and are great value when we draft in round 4...

I would love to trade back in first round and pick up another third rounder or gain a second rounder so we could nab either Jessie Williams, Alabama, NT or Brandon Williams, NT, Missouri Southern; but I don't think they'll be there in the third round and I don't won't to rely on a fourth or fifth rounder at NT to hold the point of attack in the new 3-4 scheme...

I'm projecting based on what will be there when we pick...

Ivory will probably be tendered as either a third/fourth round pick, so he may be gone if someone like Arizona, Green Bay, Miami, Pittsburgh or Atlanta signs him...

Bell has talent but they can't even get the running backs they have now enough carries. Even if they loose one, Cadet can fill in. This team was/is horrible on defense so most picks need to improve that side of the ball then again offensive line needs help too
