Re: Ingram- What do we do with him?

I hate being the guy watching on TV who says this kind of thing, but it seemed to me if he had kept going to the outside (left) towards the pylon, there was plenty of green and a pretty good chance that he could have gotten closer out there, close enough to break the plane or at least have a SHOT at getting an armful of ball into the end zone, when he made contact with whoever would have come up to meet him there on defense. Instead he pivots and cuts directly INTO the opponent a couple yards in front of him, and smacks right into the guy, thus instantly getting stood up, pushed, and comes nowhere close to sniffing the goal line. He wouldn't need to be a speed burner a la Reggie running to the pylon, but he had more ROOM to go forward, out there.

Keep using him, just not when it truly matters. When the play needs a clutch player, use PT.....no question.

Ok. But in the NFL the only plays that don't matter are those that happen in the final seconds of games when you are leading by two scores are more.

Some past posts claimed he was not effective because he wasone-dimensional. It appears that he is now non-dimenstional. In short, Ingram is a waste.

My question is who is protecting him. Is it Benson, Loomis or Payton. Anybody but one of these three and he will be gone after this week's game.

Its hard to do something with a RB who has no power, speed, vision, elusiveness or trade value. Put him on the bench and keep as worst case scenario insurance. Release after the season.

I've been on the GET RID OF INGRAM train .I was on it last year. I'm all in on the Thomas Train .Thomas gives us the Element of not knowing whats coming. When Thomas is in the game the play action is deadly.
Ingram Needs to be Benched He just Isn't our guy

Re: Ingram- What do we do with him?

Somehow Ingram and the Saints chemistry is just not right...

PT is good for 8-12 touches a game (8 against San Fran type, 12 against Dallas type)...

Sproles is best used for 6-10 touches a game; it's like in Baseball, coming back with the heater after two offspeed pitches; but if you give 'em the heater all the time; they'll figure it out...

Ingram should be a 12-15 touches a game all-around back; but it seems like the mental speed of the NFL game overmatches him; he's not in sync and seems to be thinking too much in stead of his game getting to a reacting, reflex style of running...

I don't know if the Saints coaches trust Cadet, Robinson yet...

We all agree PT is probably a top 10 RB talent wise in the league. But if we give him 10-20 more touches per game he won't last 12 weeks. We absolutely need another RB to take about 15 touches per game from PT/Sproles.

More and more its looking like Ingram just isn't the right fit. I don't know why its not working for him yet, but it doesn't matter, its just not working.

Whats changed from the last nine games of 2012 when he averaged 4.3 YPC (109/468)? He came into 2013 in the best shape of his career, a bit slimmer and was noticably faster and quicker.

Kromer perhaps? Did he really make that big of a difference in Ingram?

I don't know but somethings gotta change.
