I think these two guys will have an immediate impact at the NFL level. I just hope we can snag either one.

You know, I'd be real surprised Jeffcoat will fall through two rounds...

Jarvis Landry's highlights speak for themselves.

This Deone Buchanan kid from WSU ... boy o boy. He plays like a young Jairus Byrd & has the ability to take away the ball from the WR. Its a pipe dream but he would look good playing along side Kenny V.

I also like what I see from Justin G (Ok State).

Decisions, decisions.

Deone Buchanan might not be as big of a pipe dream as you might think. the kid is a SS that has shown some ball skill. that SS/FS tweener skill set might just help us land the kid.

Re: Mock Draft Simulator

1. Jason Verrett, CB, TCU
2. Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
3. Lache Seastrunk, RB, Baylor
4. DeMarcus Lawrence, DE, Boise State
5. Justin Britt, OT, Missouri
6. Walt Aikens, CB, Liberty

I have serious doubts the Saints would be anywhere near this lucky. Basically every round I couldn't resist picking that particular guy up. Except for 2 which may have been a little bit of a reach.

-Verrett, put him on the outside or at nickel, he's exactly what we need. Fits the scheme perfectly.
-Matthews is being compared to Keenan Allen, was productive at Vandy with nothing at QB or much other talent around him. Has Colston size but much more speed.
-Seastrunk, couldn't pass him up there. He could contribute immediately in the return game and be a wildcard in the offense. Could replace Sproles' role in the offense now or later.
-Lawrence, pass rusher but it sounds like he's good in space too. We still don't know what we have in Butler, Haralson seems injury-prone if he even gets re-signed. Need some depth if we ever intend to run a true 3-4 at any point.
-Britt is eerily similar to Stinchcomb coming out of college. Stick him at right tackle day one, my guess is he'd be fine.
-Aikens is a guy who is crazy athletic and big for a corner. I took him with the idea of moving him to safety.

Way to lighten the mood.... Did I tell you, that you were silly!!!! LMAO!!!

I have this bad habit of looking at the second round pick to see how good the draft is, I looked at your second and was about to reply about how we don't need to go qb that early and while I'm writing I start looking at the rest of the picks...... Dammit.... I been duped!!! LOL

Every Tuesday the dBase updates; a compilation of people drafting for their favorite teams - mostly by need...

Find it interesting that Gilbert is still there repeatedly when draft simulation is for Saints at pick 27....

Re: Mock Draft Simulator

Ran a few mocks this week...

Giants fans seem to really like Gilbert as well; and when he's picked by the Giants, boy does it present a radically different draft...

This is what ran this morning...

Round 1 (27) Justin Gilbert, CB , Oklahoma State; Height: 6' 0", Weight: 200lbs.

Round 2 (58) Jimmie Ward, S, Northern Illinois; Height: 5' 11" Weight: 195lbs.

Round 3 (91) Ja'Waun James, OT, Tennessee; Height: 6-6. Weight: 315lbs.

Round 4 (122) Marcus Martin, C, USC; Height: 6-3. Weight: 310lbs.

Round 5 (155) Taylor Hart, DE, Oregon; Height: 6-6. Weight: 287lbs.

Round 6 (186) Kapri Bibbs, RB, Colorado State; Height: 5-11. Weight: 200lbs.

...based on film, I'd love to have these guys in Black and Gold and maybe jump back into the 7th round and select Ok State LB Caleb Lavey, 6'3" 235lbs or at the least make him our priority UDFA signing (Owner's plane, Coach Rob with the wet bar open, Saintsations at arrival)

Combine will surely move some of these guys around, but I put less into the combine and more into game film, senior bowl playing...

Who would u rather play opposite of Galette? Ealy/Van Noy/or Ford?

Van Noy is the more complete linebacker; and he's a plus pass defender...

There's no chance that Lee falls to us... But I think Jeffcoat could be a damn good situational pass rusher worth taking anytime after the 1st round. I'd rather just take Van Noy in the first round but who knows if he'll be available?! Between Vaccaro and Van Noy we'd have 2 players who can do everything defensive players could be asked to do!

Re: Mock Draft Simulator

If only this could happen. Highly unlikely but one can dream. There's no chance Kouandijo falls to us. But if he does i know we'd snatch him up. Bailey would be a steal in the 4th and him and Vaccaro would be a top notch duo. Ryan would be able to do so much with Baptiste starting at the other corner. He has a DB body and would be also be good in the slot against bigger receivers and TEs.

Jeffcoat would be a nice addition opposite of Cam. He has a real good motor and can really get after the QB.

Taking it you saw the Brett Kiesel-type description of Mauro?!?

After your posts about getting a bull-rush, anchor end for the 34, I was looking for that reading the scouting reports and knew he was our guy...
