I think everyone is waiting on LSU pro day for Landry
Stanley Jean-Baptiste - i would not be surprised to see some take him early on because he probably will not be there in round 2 for our pick. the only thing that hurts him is his lack of playing time as a CB. |

Landry was even being touted by some as better than Odell Beckam Jr...

14 former Yellow Jackets perform drills for NFL scouts
Former defensive end Jeremiah Attaochu healthy By GEORGE HENRY Associated PressMarch 28, 2014 ATLANTA -- Defensive end Jeremiah Attaochu reached back slightly for his right hamstring at the start of Georgia Tech's pro day. It didn't take long though for Attaochu to realize his hamstring was healthy and that he could perform without hesitation in front of NFL scouts on Friday. "I think I did great," he said. "I surprised myself a little bit. I pushed through and I worked hard. That's all they want to see -- run fast and think fast." Attaochu, Georgia Tech's career sacks leader, has progressed quickly since tearing his hamstring Jan. 25 at the Senior Bowl. He missed the league's scouting combine last month in Indianapolis, but went through requisite interviews with several NFL teams, including Tennessee, the New York Jets, New Orleans, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Philadelphia and the New York Jets. But it wasn't nearly the same as trying to prove himself on the field. Scouts watched Attaochu and 13 other former Yellow Jackets do some of the same drills used at the combine each year. Attaochu, who's hoping to be drafted in the second or third round next month, said several scouts told him that he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. He reported no problems with changing directions quickly during shuttle drills. "Being able to show the scouts my athletic ability today was great," Attaochu said. "The film shows that, but being able to reassure them out here at pro day." Attaochu doesn't seem to lack confidence in talents. At 6-foot-3, 242 pounds, he's not built big like the NFL's prototypical defensive ends, but Attaochu doesn't fit the mold of an exclusive third-down pass rusher. Regardless, Attaochu said he's as good in coverage as he is in reaching the quarterback, either coming from a three-point stance or from edge as a linebacker. "The league is getting more versatile," he said. "They need guys like me that can stand up and put their hand in the ground. That definitely works to my advantage." Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Jeremiah Attaochu 6032 252 4.60 ain't a bad thing
Attaochu ran his 40-yard dash times in the late 4.5, early 4.6 range with a 37.5-inch vertical jump, 4.64 short shuttle 7.28 three cone drill. 1.55 10-yard split would have ranked him tops among all linebackers at the combine. Watching video clips of him sure he can rush a passer but what impresses me is his play down the line of scrimmage when the play is away from him. back side run support is there. Now getting through the was on the defensive side of the line of scrimmage is unreal for a guy this tall. then the adjustment angles as he works his way through the wash are solid to cut off a play. that to me was his strongest talent. reminded me of another former yellow jacket that wore the black and gold. Pat Swilling. the only hole i see in the kids game is coverage skills. then again he probably was not asked to do much of that |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
What I like about Attaochu is that he is a three-down linebacker, and that's why, regardless of rankings, he's a first round selection and a perfect fit for the Saints...
At the Senior Bowl he lined up in multiple positions (MLB, WLB, SLB, DE) and coaches raved how well he listened, trusted them, and progressed... They were surprised to see him cover running backs out of the backfield as well as he did... I'm banging the drum for him as the 27th pick if Philly doesn't grab him first... |

the only area of concern is dropping into coverage. i do not think he has done much of it so it is a coaching issue only. he is looking to be a spoiler in the media ranking as a player picked in round 1 they missed. then again i think the media read each others reviews and then write there own. very few actually spend a saturday watching games. much less reviewing tapes. I was not kidding he looked like Swilling the way he moved through traffic. I was amazed. he is probably the only player i have seen this year look that good going through the wash on both sides of the ball. your man crush might have some serious substance to it. |

You definitely on with the group think modal... I think Fin, Lee and Rubgy were all right in that it's great discussing mock drafts as you get to see, reflect on other's opininons on the team, draft needs, prospects, best fits... When I go online and research, one of the things I look for in the scripts is the source of basis of the opinions; and you're right that many of them are just regurgitating others material... But when you read an article that mentions something not seen in other reports whether contrary, or slightly askew, you remember the writer and you google their name and a prospects name and sometimes, you hit gold... But Attaochu is trending, I hope right to No. 27 where we pick... |

i live for the draft. heck i would start this thread up on day 1 of the college regular season.
i do have a problem i admit it and only has gotten worse with dual screen and pip and advancements in remote controls. DVDR is the greatest thing since sliced bread Playoffs? i gotta get use to using regular season now when talking about it. still like the old bowl system better. traditionalist that i am back on topic. yeah i like it because people always come up with names that send searching for data on. |

ILB C.J. MOSLEY ALABAMA Seems to be dropping in plenty of mocks and its a slight weak spot in the team. Good in coverage and knows how to tackle.Litle scared of his long term health but even if he only lasted the length of his rookie deal he would prove excellent value. 58 WR DONTE MONCRIEF MISSISSIPPI Not many of the WR in the draft has more upside.A 21 year old rookie with decent size and skills with plenty of scope for improvemnt. 91 C WESTON RICHBURG COLORADO STATE Best centre left on the board. 126 CB AARON COLVIN OKLAHOMA (I think he is too good a CB to miss. The injury is a concern but there is enough depth especially with Bailey that if he sits out the year on IR he will have plenty of time to rehab and learn his role before pushing for a start next year.Somebody is going to take the risk 167 RB JERICK MCKINNON GEORGIA SOUTHERN Only Thomas and Robinson are contracted beyond this year. Another like Colvin who is could be too good to miss out on. Needs work but could get snaps behind the starters this year and hopefully be ready for the start of 2015. 169 G JON HALAPIO FLORIDA Depth and potential 202 WR KEVIN NORWOOD ALABAMA Size and speed, would be higher had he played for a more pass oriented team |

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
If Norwood goes i would look at the likes of
Mike Davis, WR, Texas Height: 6-0. Weight: 197. Projected 40 Time: 4.55. Projected Round (2014): 3-5. 3/29/14: In 2013, Davis played well for Texas with 51 receptions for 727 yards and eight touchdowns. He could have produced more in his Longhorns career if they had had better quarterback play. As a junior, Davis recorded 57 receptions for 939 yards and seven scores. He put up some production as a sophomore (45-609) and freshman (47-478). Davis has some size and speed to his game. He played in the Senior Bowl, but didn't really impress. Davis didn't run at the Combine. Cody Hoffman, WR, BYU Height: 6-4. Weight: 223. 40 Time: 4.65. Projected Round (2014): 4-6. 3/29/14: The senior missed the 2013 opener with a hamstring injury. Hoffman recorded 57 receptions for 894 yards and five touchdowns for the year. He hurt his draft stock by landing a one-game suspension, but had impressive games against Wisconsin (7-113) and Washington (12-167). In those games, Hoffman flashed some nice run-after-the-catch ability. He didn't run well at the Combine, so that hurts his ability to rise. 8/3/13: Hoffman was one of the most productive receivers in the nation in 2012, despite inconsistent quarterback play. He caught 100 passes for 1,248 yards with 11 touchdowns. Hoffman had some huge games against weak competition. He was held in check by Boise State and cornerback Jamar Taylor, catching just three balls for 21 yards. Hoffman had solid production as a sophomore with 61 receptions for 943 yards and 10 touchdowns. He hauled in 42 catches for 527 yards and four scores in 2010. Hoffman is a big receiver who uses his size well. He is a serious weapon in the red zone as he runs good routes and has excellent hands. However, the big question about Hoffman is if he has enough speed to get separation from NFL defensive backs. Devin Street, WR, Pittsburgh Height: 6-3. Weight: 198. 40 Time: 4.55. Projected Round (2014): 4-6. 3/29/14: Street had an impressive start to the 2013 as he ripped off some big plays against a talented Florida State secondary. The senior totaled six receptions for 141 yards. He beat double coverage on a few throws and showed some run-after-the-catch ability. Street maintained a strong level of play throughout the season with 51 receptions for 854 yards and seven touchdowns. The biggest question mark with him is if he has the speed to get open in the NFL, but he had a solid 40 at the Combine. 8/3/13: Street has been a solid contributor for Pittsburgh the past few seasons. He was second on the team in yards in 2012 and led the Panthers in receptions with 73. The junior totaled 975 yards and five touchdowns. Street had 53 catches for 754 yards and two touchdowns in 2011. He had 25 catches for 318 yards and two touchdowns as a redshirt freshman. Street is a big receiver, but he may lack the speed for the NFL. Ryan Grant, WR, Tulane Height: 6-0. Weight: 199. 40 Time: 4.64. Projected Round (2014): 5-7. 3/29/14: In 2013, Grant had 77 receptions for 1,039 yards and nine touchdowns. He ran slower than expected at the Combine. 8/3/13: Grant had a huge junior season with 76 receptions for 1,149 yards and six touchdowns. He lost the 2011 season to a sports hernia. Grant hauled in 33 receptions for 515 yards and four touchdowns in 2010. He needs another big season to help his draft stock. Jeff Janis, WR, Saginaw Valley State Height: 6-3. Weight: 219. 40 Time: 4.42. Projected Round (2014): 6-FA. 3/29/14: It isn't easy for small-school players to get invites to the Senior Bowl, especially at the skill positions. Offensive and defensive linemen have more luck getting invited to Mobile, Alabama, but the skill position players are less likely to get invites. Janis was able to buck the trend and participated in the most high-profile all-star game. At the Senior Bowl, he was solid but unimpressive. Janis was one of the top receivers in the nation in Division II over the past few seasons. In 2013, he totaled 83 receptions for 1,572 yards and 14 touchdowns. Janis has good size for the NFL. Alex Neutz, WR, Buffalo Height: 6-3. Weight: 205. Projected 40 Time: 4.54. Projected Round (2014): 7-FA. 3/29/14: Neutz played well in 2013 with 61 receptions for 1,024 yards and 12 touchdowns. Early in the season, the senior was impressive against Ohio State (9-98-1) and Baylor (6-197-1). Neutz totaled 65 catches for 1,015 yards with 11 touchdowns in 2012. He has good size but lacks speed. Neutz didn't work out at the Combine. Matt Hazel, WR, Coastal Carolina Height: 6-1. Weight: 198. 40 Time: 4.50. Projected Round (2014): 4-6. 3/29/14: Of all the players at the East-West Shrine, Hazel probably helped himself the most. He really impressed scouts, and they compared Hazel to Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts in his ability to make plays. Hazel definitely helped himself. At his size, he showed nice quickness and route-running for a big receiver. Hazel had 70 receptions for 990 yards and nine touchdowns in 2013. He had a quality Combine performance, too. Some really interesting receivers that are going to go in the 6/7/UFA area |

Round 1 (27) Jerimiah Attaochu, OLB, Ga Tech; Height: 6 3; Weight: 252 lbs. Most underrated of the top talent in the draft; can play OLB, ILB, or DE... Speed to Burn...Just a tremendous athlete who's only just learning the game...dominated against Georgia... Round 2 (58) Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss; Height: 6 2; Weight 221 lbs. Why this guy is not rated higher is puzzling; skilled route runner with "suddenness" when making cuts in his routes giving him advantage over any defender; great hands and continues to disprove doubters about his speed... Round 3 (91) Jordan Tripp, ILB, Montana; Height: 6 3; Weight 235 lbs. Surprised to find him here, but snatched him up; another LB who can play ILB or OLB; very capable pass defender which makes him a 3-down linebacker like the first round pick, Attaochu, and therefore a plus, plus player... Round 4 (122) Russell Bodine, OL, UNC; Height: 6 3; Weight: 310 lbs. Capable of playing both Guard and Center; One of the strongest players at the combine with great durability; could immediately start at Center and offer flexibility at Guard; big plus - plays with a nasty, mean streak... Round 5 (155) Walt Aikens, CB, Liberty; Height: 6 0; Weight: 198 lbs. Got into trouble early and has gotten back on track; many scouting reports compare him to Keenan Lewis, already with the Saints; very genuine interview to accent very genuine coverage skills, speed and size... Round 5 (157) Wesley Johnson, OL, Vanderbilt; Height: 6 5; Weight: 297 lbs. Has played all positions on the offensive line with skill set best suited for right tackle or even Centre; Often over-looked statistic is he gave up few to no sacks against some of the top pass rushing talent in the SEC that is now or soon to be in the NFL... Round 6 (186) James Stone, C, Tennessee; Height: 6 4; Weight: 306 lbs. Tennessee may have four offensive linemen drafted in this draft, which could work against them as far as rankings; make no mistake, this guy is the goods and should benefit from some NFL coaching to correct technique that is limiting him from being a higher round selection; ideal, pro-ready size and speed... Gave it a shot.... This was my first attempt. Can only wish Dennard fell to us at 27. Hard to see all these guys landing to us, but we can always dream. I drafted BPA and considered needs as well. Ended up getting us great depth at CB & WR and allows us to put our best players on the field as they would battle it out in camp. Only thing i didnt like from this mock is I was unable to land a solid LB, due to value and availability.

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Round 4 (122) Russell Bodine, OL, UNC; Height: 6 3; Weight: 310 lbs.
could immediately start at Center????????????????????? I do not see it. excellent developmental player with coaching can become a starter and might be ready to step in at OG in a couple of years when the big buck OG are up for new contracts Round 6 (186) James Stone, C, Tennessee; Height: 6 4; Weight: 306 lbs another solid prospect to develop. Weston Richburg is still my guy in round 2 and he gets a BPA rating at that pick two years down the road you could be looking at Weston Richburg and Russell Bodine both as starters for the saints. who knows Litto might be the other answer at the other OG position. at the least you hope he becomes your #1 back up that does not make fans shutter when he takes the field. so far so good with the kid. Two OG that can play OC if needed? not a bad set up kill two birds with one stone. plug the hole now and plug the one coming up in the next few years. |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
I would be very happy with this draft, although i'd want Allen Robinson all areas seem to be filled very nicely. I think jeanpierre & hagan would be A ok with this draft as well, We can only hope things go this well on draft day.
Enjoy... 27 OLB, JEREMIAH ATTAOCHU - GEORGIA TECH 58 CB, STANLEY JEAN-BAPTISTE - NEBRASKA 91 WR, DONTE MONCRIEF - OLE MISS 126 WR, BRANDON COLEMAN - RUTGERS 167 C, BRYAN STORK - FLORIDA STATE 169 RB, DE'ANTHONY THOMAS - OREGON 202 CB, AARON COLVIN - OKLAHOMA I felt the talent & upside of Aaron Colvin was too good to pass up with our final pick in the 6th round once he gets 100%. Attaochu can flat get out of the QB or patrol the flats with his speed... Moncrief must be our target in the second round if we really want to see the ball going back to the WRs; and he has the size/speed to get after guys like Sherman... Yes, three OLB were drafted, buy Tripp would be an upgrade at MLB where he's great in coverage and against the run and would make for a nice fit in Ryan's 3-3-5 nickel package... Starting to see Pierre Desir fall, doubt it would happen, but if it did definitely grab him or Walt Aikens here to learn behind Keenan Lewis while Champ Bailey gets Robinson back on track... Actually staring to think Bodine may not be available even when we pick fourth currently; he's got amazing strength and a great record both as a Center and Guard... Howard Jones is my sleeper of sleepers; but this guys size/speed combination is rare and could allow him to come in and spend a year to learn behind one of the vets in the MLB and push late in the season for some time... Zach Fulton is getting overlooked because of TN two tackle prospects; he can play both guard and right tackle which makes him a great match for the Saints in the sixth...
