Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Drew would be dancing in the street if this happened 27 OT ZACK MARTIN NOTRE DAME Ok the gods smile on the saints and most QBs fall. Drew gets a player that can start at any position on the OL from day one. Why wouldn't he be giddy? 58 S DEONE BUCANNON WASHINGTON STATE I honestly do think he will be here. he is my #1 safety still and top 5 DB in the draft. if he is he is hands down the best secondary player left in the draft. thats all i can say. steal. I could live with the pick in the first. *see notation below* 91 RB CHARLES SIMS WVU 6006 215 4.48 Here is the safety net if Ingram fails to live up to his end of the bargain. I still say he is among the elite backs that will have a major impact in the NFL. Runs inside and outside. Probably the best back receiving and picking up the blitz. He has saints rB written all over him. he is PT replacement and will step up if or when Ingram is done. he is a bit taller than PT and a bit faster (4.62) but both are the same style of runner. 126 WR KEVIN NORWOOD ALABAMA Drew gets a WR that is very comfortable working out of the slot as well as outside. A slot WR that is 6020? thats a huge change. works the middle of the field extremely well as well as side lines. Ignore the ranking here no expected him to run a sub 4.5. Versatile and knows how to go after the ball with a huge catch radius (32" arms). cone drill 6.68 shows he has great change of direction skills. Good hands and concentration I would not be surprised to go earlier but the depth this year might let us get a solid steal. 2nd or 3rd round in any other year. 167 C TYLER LARSEN UTAH STATE 6035 315 If he is there is the 5th i would take him in a heart beat. blue collar lunch pail toting wild man. he does nothing to blow you away but he is solid and non stop. He is the type of player that just does his job and does it well. never know he shocked a lot a people at the senior bowl and handled all challengers. Starting OC instead of Martin and Martin slide outside to ROT or OG down the road. Streif signed a contract that almost guarantees his retirement as a saint even as a swing backup. 169 CB DONTAE JOHNSON NORTH CAROLINA STATE My favorite FS/CB in the draft. yep he has played them all. Nickle Slot CB FS and some strange hybrid LB scheme at NC state at one time. So he needs to be coached up. here is your big tall CB/S everyone wants 6021 200 and get this 4.45 in the 40. Thats if he is here. I think the saints would need to trade back into the four to get the kid . but there is a shot. 202 OT JUSTIN BRITT MISSOURI 6057 325 Odds are he will never be a starter but he can play every position on the OL and has the ability to be a long snapper. just a solid Joe that can work as a solid back up for many years in the NFL. but you never could tell he is the type that could surpise you. love that blue collar lunch pail toting mentality types in the trenches **********Realitically in round 2 IMO********** I am not guessing at WR, but there might be a possibility that Landry might be there. If so that would be my second no brainier pick in this round. right now the boards are all over the place. DT Daquan Jones Penn State is a solid option god knows the DT rotation could use some help. do not forget about Deandre Coleman later in the draft. round 5 would be an option. I think if some of the hype holds true DE will drop in the drop. could a Trent Murphy be on the board? So rounds one and two are kinda of a dream and if the saints moved up to get Martin ahead of the dolphins i could fully understand the move. he opens up the draft even more than it is now. i am pretty set on on the last 4 rounds. though DONTAE JOHNSON could be a stretch in all honesty. there in the fifth i doubt it. But Noorwood is my #1 WR target after day one and maybe two of the draft. he just may surprise people and go in third. that sub 4.5 was huge for him. people were wondering if he could go sub 4.6 much less sub 4.5. here ya go i am going out on a limb and say Noorwood is a solid sleeper to go in the second round even. Best Player Available has worked, but with the commitment in salary to Byrd and Bush and having Vaccaro under rookie contract, can't see spending that high of a pick unless it's a select and trade arrangement; plus, I question him as a second round grade; we've greater team needs with higher graded talent... |

if another safety goes down next year we are looking mighty thin. our Canadian signing i am not counting on. so if one of the remainders get banged up what then? He has as much upside as anyone on the board in that area of the draft. He is a FS that hits like SS. I look in that area of the draft and have a hard time seeing a safe pick. |

LMAO i am not ready to eat my crow sandwich just yet. but i did move it from the freezer to the refig. I still wish he had better hands but up at line in a players face i will admit he is something fun to watch. that is were i think he should stay. jumping all around making people mad. hybrid SS/LB rover type. put some one deep that has hands. hell a 4 safety set is cool with me in a dime set up with the right CB. put them all out there. lol just let him run around like a mad man doing his thing. |

What sold me on Vacarro was his pass breakups on some deep routes - something I can't recall seeing Harper or Jenkins do without Mr. Hankie making an appearance... So while I think Ogletree would've been outstanding for us, I'm more than glad to have KV counted among the black and gold... But there's Attaochu and he'd be our Ahmad Brooks, probably better, and we've got to take the front seven to elite status with Attaochu and at least one younger, faster, stronger, bigger Inside LineBacker... |

What scares me is several ppl, including Ian Rapoport, reported the Panthers are traveling for a last minute visit with him today. No smokescreen there...same scenario played out last year with us & kenny. wouldnt be mad at all to select him just to guarantee he doesnt land with a division rival. He's gonna be a playmaker. Id rather go with desir/jean-baptiste in the 2nd/3rd or aaron colvin/walt aikens in place of dontae in the 4th & select dontae in the 5th...love his versatility to play CB or S. Cant hate that length he has either. If we're talkin CB of course. |

His main knocks are "explosiveness" & "elite speed" which is a load of garbage. -Great size(6'3, 215) -Solid speed/40(4.47 pro day, 4.57 combine) -Executed a pro style offense under Bill O'Brien -Shows he can execute the entire route tree -Great, Strong hands -Exceptional leaping ability(42" VJ) -Locates ball & plucks at high point -11' Broad Jump -Deceptive acceleration/sharp cuts on breaks -Physical & shows strength after the catch as a ball carrier and looks to gain those extra yards.(Demaryius Thomas like, especially on screens) - possession & big play target -Progressed each year despite injuries/new coach/new qb -shows he's knowledgeable & easy task transitioning to nfl playbook. -pro ready -no off the field issues Screams no.1 WR.. Weaknesses are all correctable/coachable issues -tighten footwork on breaks at times -sell patterns better -elite speed Just my analysis...SP will get star quality out of him, no doubt in my mind. Geesh even ppl are knit pickin at moncrief for "elite speed" and "straight line speed" ...didnt he run like a 4.3 40? Ppl are always gonna find somethin to complain about & its sad. Moncrief, robinson, & matthews will all be solid pros. Bryants one year of production is a little concerning but thats expected being behind watkins/hopkins. But why couldnt he earn more reps? Thats something to watch...More of a over the top kind of guy, But i love him. But the three previously mentioned are more of a priority with me. I understand tho jeanpierre we all have our guys, i respect that. & i would trust ryan shazier with rob ryan anyday. Our coaches get the best out of their guys...all the talent is there for shazier & definitely shows it on tape and workout. 4.39 40 is just ridiculous...jack of all trades at that. Can cover with the best, fill gaps/stuff run holes & rush the passer. Exactly what we have been screaming for all these years & what we need in a LB . I like these guys. |

TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Washington ? whats the issue here? I think he will bounce back to his 2013 form. a bit of gamble in the second but no worse of a gamble than any od the CB in that area of the draft. I do not condemn a person for 1 DWI.
If you want a safe pick it is Bucannon. |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Sarik, you want length?!?
Check out this guy... FS Lonnie Ballentine, Memphis, Height: 6' 3"; Weight: 225 lbs... Measurables: 40yd Dash - 4.4 sec! ; Bench Press (225lbs) - 18 reps; Vertical - 38 inches! Personal: 20 years old; MARRIED, with two (2) children - so, yeah, he's got REAL motivation... Currently projects as a sixth rounder?!? Yeah, right... |

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Lots of big name players falling in some of the online mocks now.
I know this wont happen, but i would be delighted if it did, trade down a couple of times obviously and end up with a load of 3/4/5 rounders. If the players fell as they did on here what a draft it would be Round 2 Pick 8 (MINN): Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss Round 3 Pick 8 (MINN): Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State Round 3 Pick 20 (ARI): David Yankey, OG, Stanford Round 3 Pick 27: Christian Jones, ILB, Florida State Round 4 Pick 8 (MINN): Martavis Bryant, WR, Clemson Round 4 Pick 9 (BUF): Bryan Stork, C, Florida State Round 4 Pick 20 (ARI): Russell Bodine, OG, North Carolina Round 4 Pick 26: Brandon Thomas, OG, Clemson Round 5 Pick 29: Howard Jones, OLB, Shepherd Round 6 Pick 12 (STL): Walt Aikens, CB, Liberty Round 6 Pick 26: Aaron Colvin, CB, Oklahoma Round 7 Pick 11 (STL): Cornelius Lucas, OT, Kansas State Round 7 Pick 26 (STL): Wesley Johnson, OT, Vanderbilt The Offensive line would be loaded with quality young backups and future starters both inside and possibly at tackle too. The receivers would be completely reset. Let Benjamin back up Colston and spot start for him this year and new number 1 option in Moncrief. Redshirt Colvin and Thomas for a year and its like having a pair of 2-3rd rounders in addition to next years draft. Ah well i can dream |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
27 S DEONE BUCANNON WASHINGTON STATE
Pairing Byrd and Deone together would give the saints two of the best ball hawking safeties in team history. Add in Kenny the head hunter and Wild man Bush and i do not not want to hear a thing about the safety position for the next couple of years 58 LB CHRISTIAN JONES FLORIDA STATE I still say he is a steal even here. But sometimes you need to reach in order to make the rest of the draft to fall into place. 91 TE C.J. FIEDOROWICZ IOWA Jimmy gets his wish. 10 mill next year as his TE duties are taken over by a true TE. Plus he can really catch as well as block. He can be groomed by Watson. who is a FA in 2016 and has a cap hit of 1.9 million and dead money of 400,000 in 2015. It gives you some cap flex down the road. Even so Watson and CJ in a dbl TE set with Jimmy flanked out in a single back set would be a nightmare. All three can catch. while two are excellent blockers 126 C TYLER LARSEN UTAH STATE I just keep coming back to him as the best option after the top OC are off the board. He did extremely well at the senior bowl so small school competition bit was answered and he blew away the scouts knocks on him at the combine. There is a home for him in the NFL at OC or OG. 167 CB WALT AIKENS LIBERTY Like Carlson there is something about the kid that makes me keep going back to him. solid numbers nothing flashy but his tapes and the way he stepped up at the senior bowl screams attitude. 169 RB DE'ANTHONY THOMAS OREGON He tiny yes he is quick yes. now imagine trying to tackle the most dynamic kick returner in college in 2013. Plus SP will find a way to get him in this offense 202 OT JUSTIN BRITT MISSOURI Every team need a swiss army knife on the OL. That is what this kid is. OT/OG/LS. Plus he looks to need some coaching up and you never know what he he might become. I am done. yeah right |

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Last mock before tomorrow
27. BRANDIN COOKS - WR - OREGON STATE 58. MARCUS MARTIN - C - SOUTHERN CAL - just seems more and more the Saints are leaning toward Martin 91. STANLEY JEAN-BAPTISTE - CB - NEBRASKA 126. CHRIS BORLAND - ILB - WISCONSIN - surprised he was still available. Compared to Zack Thomas. DOesn't have the height measurables for most ILB but probably the smartest ILB in this years class 167. WALT AIKENS - CB - LIBERTY 169. DRI ARCHER - RB/KR - KENT STATE 202. LARRY WEBSTER - OLB/DE - BLOOMSBURG - project player who looks the part of a 3-4 OLB (6'6, 256 lbs). Had the second fastest 40 time (4.58) at the combine among d-linemen. Played 4 years of basketball at Bloomsburg, setting the team record for blocks, and many think he could be an NFL TE. Only played one season of college football tallying 49 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks with two passes batted and one forced fumble in 12 games |
