Mock Draft Simulator
You pick your team and the number of rounds you want to draft, and a live draft ensues. Takes a couple minutes but fun.
Fanspeak's On the Clock NFL Mock Draft Simulator Here's my Saints draft Round 1: Bradley Roby - CB - Ohio State Tckl: 70 TFL: 2 Sack: 0 INT: 3 PD: 16 Round 2: Adrian Hubbard - OLB - Alabama Tckl: 31 TFL: 5.5 Sack: 3 QBH: 4 INT: 0 PD: 2 - Compared to Dion Jordan. Good pass rush specialist Round 3: Deone Bucannon - S - Washington Tckl: 114 TFL: 4.5 Sack: 0 INT: 6 PD: 7 FF: 3 FR: 2 Round 4: Joel Bitonio - OT - Nevada Round 5: Bryan Stork - OC - Florida State - 2013 Rimington Trophy Winner (Best Center in nation) Round 6: L'Damian Washington - WR - Missouri - 6'4, 205 lbs. 2013: 47 reception, 853 yards, 10 TD's |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Bucannon! In the late 3rd round? I hope so that would be awesome.
|
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Better watch out for Stork the Cowboys may get him in the first round.
|
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
I wouldn't be upset with that draft. Especially if Roby turns out to be better than the last Ohio St. cb we drafted in the 1st round.
|
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
First-Pick.com is a good draft sim Be warned it is addicting.
|
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
oh, cause we're still playing, right?

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Latest mock I drafted for our Saints on Fanspeak
Round 1: Justin Gilbert - CB - Oklahoma State Tckl: 42 TFL: 0 Sack: 0 QBH: 1 INT: 7 PD: 7 FF: 0 FR: 0 - arguably one of the top three CB's in the draft. And with injuries to Robinson and Greer, and not knowing how they will come back, having a young CB to paid with Keenan Lewis for years to come is the way to go. Round 2: Deone Bucannon - S - Washington State Tckl: 114 TFL: 4.5 Sack: 0 INT: 6 PD: 7 FF: 3 FR: 2 - arguably the top SS in this years draft class. Solid coming up to the line or playing out in space covering the field, Bucannon has good field awareness and makes good decisions. A future of Vaccarro and Bucanon is scary. Round 3: Scott Crichton - OLB/DE - Oregon State Tckl: 47 TFL: 19 Sack: 7.5 QBH: 1 INT: 0 PD: 3 FF: 3 FR: 1 - more disruptive than numbers would have you think. Very good off the edge and would play better as a 3-4 OLB Round 4: Bryan Stork - C - Florida State - Rimington Award winner for best center in college football, helping Florida State to a national title. Round 5: Joel Bitonio - OT - Nevada - Although Nevada had a bad season, Bitonio had a great season, showing he can play with top tier talent by shutting down both Anthony Barr and Kyle Van Noy, both projected first round DE/OLB draft picks. Round 6: Jeff Janis - WR - Saginaw Valley State REC: 83 Yards: 1572 TD: 14 - has height at 6'3 and a projected 4.43 timed 40. Small school prospect |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Best center going 4th or 5th round.. that's some cheese.

Still to early to tell.

Two DBs who are good (Buchannons gonna beast for sure), a QB to groom behind Brees who has accuracy, 2 OL to get started, and Sproles heir. |

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
I dunno if DAT can stay healthy at the next level but wouldn't mind testing the waters on him if he falls to us in the 4th-5th round. Payton would be able to work wonders with a weapon like that.
I don't agree with you guys mocking us with so many DBs with our early picks, it's gonna be a buyers market again for free agent corners and we have decent depth at safety. Most glaring need for us is a deep threat receiver, Morgan is a pending free agent who can't stay healthy plus our 3 starting receivers are all 30 and getting slower. I could also see us adding an explosive OLB in the late first round or maybe even going after a faster coverage ILB. |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
1. Jason Verrett, CB, TCU
2. Jeremy Hill, RB, LSU 3. Ed Stinson, DE, Alabama 4. CJ Barrett, S, Ohio State 5. Michael Campanero, WR, Wake Forest 6. Keith Wenning, QB, Ball State I like what I came up with. Verrett should immediately be a solid nickel/slot corner, something our secondary could really use IMO. Hill would allow you to shed some salary at RB by trading Thomas or Ingram. Stinson would be really good in our D-line rotation and can move inside on four-man rush downs. Barrett's a big safety, good tackler in the mold of Harper. Would be good in big nickel packages as the 3rd safety. Campanero is a Moore/Tanner type, Wenning a good quality career backup type. I probably reached a little bit on most picks. BUT they are all very safe picks and we're going to need young cheap guys filling out the roster. |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
I ran the mock a couple times and the O-linemen were grabbed up fast.

27 CB JUSTIN GILBERT
OKLAHOMA STATE 58 OT MORGAN MOSES VIRGINIA 91 RB KA’DEEM CAREY ARIZONA 122 DT ANTHONY JOHNSON LSU 155 WR MIKE DAVIS TEXAS 186 S VINNIE SUNSERI ALABAMA It looks like Justin Gilbert is starting to fall on a lot of Saints fans wish lists...If I could have back doored that with a 58 Calvin Pryor pick I think I would have been the happiest mock drafter in the history of mock drafts.. Its much harder to get Gilbert on first-pick.com so my guess is that is going to be closer to reality...... |

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Post Senior Bowl Mock
- Draft position of players changed with players moving up, so it was tougher. But I was happy with the draft. Round 2: Jeremiah Attaochu - OLB - Georgia Tech Tckl: 45 TFL: 16 Sack: 12.5 QBH: 3 INT: 0 PD: 2 FF: 1 FR: 0 - don't know a lot about him myself. He had a great Senior Bowl week and I know our staff spoke to him on a couple occasions. I also know we're looking for another edge pass rusher. If our staff showed multiple days of interest, I'll go with that Round 3: Jimmie Ward - SS - Northern Illinois Tckl: 95 TFL: 2.5 Sack: 1 QBH: 0 INT: 7 PD: 17 FF: 2 FR: 1 - literally unknown until the Senior Bowl where he stood out among safeties. Was placed as a 1 deep safety and on the line against TE's and WR's. Quick, good read and react skills, and hits hard. Plus our staff was talking to him as well. Pairing him and Vaccaro would be a great safety tandem Round 4: Bryan Stork - C - Florida State - Rimington Award winner for best center in college football, helping Florida State to a national title. Round 5: Jeff Janis - WR - Saginaw State Jeff Janis - WR - Saginaw Valley State REC: 83 Yards: 1572 TD: 14 - Improved his stock at the Senior Bowl some. Big receiver with unconfirmed 4.36 speed. Round 6: Dede Lattimore - ILB - South Florida Tckl: 98 TFL: 5.5 Sack: 2 QBH: 2 INT: 1 PD: 3 FF: 4 FR: 3 - Has a 3-4 round grade on other draft sites, but was there in the 6th. No offensive tackles worth drafting, so thought I'd add a decent ILB for depth. Really wish I could have found an OT in the draft. Guess we could move Charles Brown to RT if Strief does in fact leave and maybe pick up a UDFA or a FA from the league. |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
I don't know why people like mocks.. I've been playing around with this simulator and it only makes me more anxious wish it would hurry already. I aimed for Ealy/Van Noy when I had the chance to pick. I can only hope we knock this draft/off season out of the park.
Who would u rather play opposite of Galette? Ealy/Van Noy/or Ford? |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Mock draft and draft threads are dumb before free-agency.
What if we land a solid CB, FS, RT, C, LB or WR before the draft? Kinda changes things drastically don't you think? |

we still need an OLB that can seal the edge and bull rush for those other downs. our rotation at OLB is mighty thin after you take the pass rushers out of the mix. |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
ok its fun but man o man does it change. this is let reach a bit in the first two rounds and see what happens. thats after all the CB and S were gone this time around.

i never like the ideology myself. nothing wrong with being over loaded at a position you went after in FA. Area of need if you went after a FA. besides that makes a team that other teams will approach about trades if you have solid depth at a position |

that were i think you can go with either or both in camp and have them play around and learn safety for the next few years as a side line hobby. one may work out there. who knows you may end up playing 5 cb and 1 safety sets once in a while. i kept trying to get Marqueston Huff FS Wyoming with out over reaching because he is a true FS/CB player |

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
I enjoy playing around with these precombne, pre FA and pre draft.
I mostly do it at work on the weekends as we have nothing to do but be onsite. As has been stated already gives you a reason to watch the other players you have not seen and see if you can pick out any interesting picks predraft. |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
One of the things I like is that whether we draft these players or not I am familiar with more players in the NFL.

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
R1 (27) CB JUSTIN GILBERT, OKLAHOMA STATE
R2 (58) NT RA’SHEDE HAGEMAN, MINNESOTA R3 (91) OLB JACKSON JEFFCOAT, TEXAS R4 (122) RB JAMES WHITE, WISCONSIN R5 (155) RB DE’ANTHONY THOMAS, OREGON R6 (186) G KADEEM EDWARDS, TENNESSEE STATE Approached this draft taking the BPA according to the site's rankings which I understand is partially based on an average draft position of all the site's participants... Again, Gilbert fell as well as the Notre Dame OL; I balanced need vs what I was getting and felt to get Gilbert there was greater value; he's an impact playmaker who can also return the ball... Don't like taking a NT in first two rounds, but drafting Hageman in Round 2 gives another quality NT and would allow relief from Bunkley's salary or possibly trade him to a team needing a experienced NT like Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, or for a mid round pick... Jackson Jeffcoat was there in round three and has the pedigree as an edge pass rusher; concerned about the transition to OLB, but at worst, he would be a third down specialist who can have a devastating pass rush with a different look for us... James White was there again for me in the fourth and I jumped at the opportunity to get the RB corps younger and he's got a deceptive extra elusive gear; he's also proved to be an excellent, willing blocker in the backfield... It's gotta be the risk in size, but De'Anthony Thomas was there in the fifth and that speed would be an opportunity to really make the RB corps elite and I doubt any LB could keep up with him on a wheel route coming out the backfield... I really like Zack Kerr but taking Hageman earlier made me look for OL and Kadeem Edwards was available; he's a project, but the athleticism and frame is to develop an excellent interior lineman... Players I looked for but weren't there Jeremiah Attaochu keeps getting taking in the early-mid second round range; if Gilbert hadn't been there in the first, and I was Saints GM, I'd trade back into the early second round to grab JerryA or UVA Tackle Morgan Moses and get at least a mid third round pick to... select C Marcus Martin, USC of or select RT NFL-ready Ja'Wuan James of Univ of Tennessee... Was Tempted to get WR Brandon Coleman of Rutgers in the third round which would have been good value; but he's got some development still and has been inconsistent with the hands, we have that already with Toon... |
