Id be happy with that but would add in Jarvis Landry as the 2nd round WR or take the top WR in round 1 and Stanley Jean Baptise in round 2.

Re: Mock Draft Simulator

Really like your first three picks; most mocks have Gilbert geauxing between picks 8-14 - or he falls to the Chargers... Hubbard seems like a guy with all the physical tools, but no heart... Archer must be your Sproles replacement - he's at that age where replacement is necessitated - but he's not that easily replaceable; but I like Archer over the Oregon kid... |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator

Rather have Vandy's Jordan Matthews or Ole Miss' Donte Moncrief; lost alot of confidence in Landry post-combine; and quite frankly, Beckham doesn't impress me at the pro-level... |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Not seen much od Moncrief (this weekends watch at work).
The good thing with players like Archer is that there are a few options, some may even go undrafted and with the Saints rep players see them as a great landing spot as they know if thet perform they make the squad regardless of names. Id love s Anquan Boldin type receiver. Somebody who if he gets his hands to the ball makes the catches regardless of coverage or at worst he doesn't allow a pick by protecting the ball. Either that or a Harvin/Austin type that can take a short pass and turn it into 40-50 yards. It might just be me but there were a few times ladt year that Drew underthrew the deep ball and a more precise shorter yardage big explosion game may be the way to go with a power run game. |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator

Hubbard in the 5th is a value pick. If Payton and Ryan can get him motivated, he has the physical tools to be an OLB for us. And Dri Archer was definitely the Sproles replacement. He can do a little of everything, but I especially like the KR/PR explosiveness potential. Something we could use once again. |

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Quote:
Big Concern for McGill is the lack of exposure to really good wide outs... Henderson of the U strikes me as a big waste of talent on a bad attitude I'm really, really liking Britt as a Right Tackle, too... |

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 27:*Dee Ford, DE, Auburn (B+) Round 2 Pick 26:*Antonio Richardson, OT, Tennessee (A) Round 3 Pick 27:*Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas (A) Round 4 Pick 26:*Anthony Steen, OG, Alabama (B+) Round 5 Pick 27:*Jerick McKinnon, RB, Georgia Southern (B+) Round 5 Pick 29:*Devin Street, WR, Pittsburgh (A) Round 6 Pick 26:*Kevin Norwood, WR, Alabama (A-) Hopefully Butler producrs but there is a question mark there and Dee Ford would beba great pick and was BPA Richardson was being labled a late first round talent a month ago and would slot into the RT spot nicely Swanson is by some the top rated C in the draft. Jerick McKinnon A bit more of a surprise as he is a former QB changing to RB. 5'9 209lb 4.41 in the 40(2nd to Archer) 32 reps on the bench (best RB) Ran for 125 yards on 9 attempts agsinst Florida. Likened to Alfred Morris and Zac Stacey. Only Thomas is proven over 16 games at RB and this kid could be a beast with time. Ingram only had a year remaining, Robinson and Thomas the same. 3/8/14:*McKinnon was tremendous at the Combine. He led the running backs in the bench press with 32 reps while also flying in the other tests. McKinnon was second among the running backs to only Kent State's Dri Archer in the 40-yard dash with a time of 4.41 seconds. McKinnon tied Archer for the fastest 10-yard split at 1.46 seconds. In the field drills, McKinnon continued to impress as he ran well in the change of directions and looked good in the receiving drills. He really helped his cause as a mid-round pick.* McKinnon played quarterback in college, but will move to running back in the NFL. He ran for 1,050 yards as a senior with 12 touchdowns in 2013. McKinnon had 125 yards on nine attempts against Florida to help lead Georgia Southern to a legendary upset.* McKinnon was very impressive as a runner at the Senior Bowl. He used his speed to rip off some long runs and has a real burst out of the backfield. McKinnon also is put together well with the strength to get yards after contact. He is a sleeper back who could be this year's Alfred Morris or Zac Stacy. Anthony Steen Guard Alabama Work in progress but you know you should be gettingba solid and well trained lineman with aggression from Saban. Both Evans and Grubbs are expensive and age injuries are always a worry on the line. Street and Norwood Both similar players and maybe yiu take one and Dre Archer instead (I think he goed earlyish though in the real draft). A pair of 6'4/6'3 WR without elite speed 4.5/4.4 but both have good hands and could learn under Colston. Alot depends on Toon but its hard to judge him yet. |

The thing about this year is once we draft OC, OT, and WR the rest are luxury picks! maybe a DB, maybe a DT, maybe a RB. Best Player Available

Traded back; traded first round pick for early second round pick and a third round pick...
Traded back, again, picking up add'l picks in the top 100 picks... Other than not grabbing an impact WR - with only Moncrief, I settled in to build depth on both defense and select BPA starters for the Offensive Line... Will be fine if we spend the first two picks on impact players, bpa... We really need some improvement at ILB, and Bullough is the guy... |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator
Drafted back a couple of times then drafted up ito get back into the late third for Richardson. He seems to have slipped in alot of rankings due to really poor pro week. We do a good job at getting small school guards ready so i see no reason a recovery job cant be performed here
Your score is: 4267 (Drafting Ability: C+, Player Quality A, Future Draft Picks: N/A) Your Picks: Round 2 Pick 24 (S.F.): Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt (B+) Round 2 Pick 26: Antonio Richardson, OT, Tennessee (A) Round 2 Pick 29 (S.F.): Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech (A) Round 3 Pick 12 (DET): Keith McGill, CB, Utah (B) Round 3 Pick 22 (PHI): Cyril Richardson, OG, Baylor (C) Round 4 Pick 2 (WASH): Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas (A) Round 4 Pick 11 (DET): DaQuan Jones, DT, Penn State (A) Round 4 Pick 26: Ryan Grant, WR, Tulane (B) Round 5 Pick 27: Jerick McKinnon, RB, Georgia Southern (B+) Round 6 Pick 13 (DET): Howard Jones, OLB, Shepherd (D) Round 6 Pick 31 (DEN): Kevin Norwood, WR, Alabama (A-) Round 7 Pick 28 (S.F.): Aaron Colvin, CB, Oklahoma (C-) |

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
here is on that could cause a stir. actually outside of round 1 i thought the players fell pretty true. hype went pretty early in each round
27 - DE KONY EALY MISSOURI 58 - RB BISHOP SANKEY WASHINGTON 91 - LB CHRISTIAN JONES - FLORIDA STATE 122 - C TYLER LARSEN UTAH STATE 155 - OT MICHAEL SCHOFIELD MICHIGAN 157 - DE JOSH MAURO STANFORD 186 - CB AARON COLVIN OKLAHOMA |
Re: Mock Draft Simulator

I think the Giants may grab Ealy, if they stay where they are, to replace Justin Tuck and because he's got freakish speed like Clowney... |

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
27 - WR BRANDON COOKS OREGON
58 -OT JACK MEWHORT OHIO STATE 91 - OT JAMES HURST NORTH CAROLINA 155 - ILB MAX BULLOUGH MICHIGAN STATE 157 - OT MICHAEL SCHOFIELD MICHIGAN 186 - CB AARON COLVIN OKLAHOMA resign DLP and draft three OT? hear me out. wait let me pour another shot. ok then MEWHORT can play ROT both OG and some OC. HURST aint pretty but gets the job Done. ROT and LOT swing man SCHOFIELD can handle ROT but inside at OG is were he has played most Now you have 2 OT that can handle OG position if the starters goes down and a swing man that can handle the either side but prefer RT. In two years you just might have two OT/OG on the roster ready to go when the big money at OG comes up for FA and a swing man HURST ready to step in at RT as a starter. MEWHORT is interesting with the OC bit. maybe able to take over the LS duties right out the gate. opens up yet another roster spot. he has been working on that part of his game and from what i read he looked pretty good working out of the shoot gun. Two solid versatile OL go a long way especially if the already proved they can handle the inside and did well with the move outside. Hurst playing swing man would allow the boken leg to mend and get stronger. that if he pass the medical. OK blast away :) |

Juwuan James and Tiny Richardson of Tennessee may still be there in the second round, so why not them?!? Mewhort is a fourth rounder, Hurst a fifth at best, maybe with his injury flags... Schofield has a nasty edge, but he's a sixth round guard in my mind... But I'll buy drinks and I'll tell you why... because you got my boy, Bullough, and I think it's ILB that we need to draft so we can transition this season and dump those bad contracts next offseason... And I don't buy he's gonna last past the third round because of questions about his athleticism or character after that Combine... |

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
It's hard to tell with his limited play due to Alabama being run first but Norwood could be a steal late on, same with Devin Street. Only speed is a concern but not that slow.Add on another 15lbs on lean muscle to his frame and allow Colston to tutor him for a year or so and he could be a great steal too

Good call on Bama's Norwood; but if Moncrief isn't there, I'd like to see the Saints sit pact until the fourth, fifth round and grab Norwood... The only knock on Norwood was his production and, as you posted, Ground and Pound was Saban's game... |
