Tough, scrappy player - definitely the kind of guy we could use...

...but I see two problems...

First, not sure we have cap room and we have similar, younger players now...

It all depends on Victor Butler and how he's mending; but it's be interesting to see how Ryan reacts with Spencer, possibly Ware, hitting the market...

PFF graded Finnegan as the second worst CB in the league last season. 198th out of 199 graded.
Receivers had a 76% catch percentage against him and QBs had a 105 passer rating throwing into his coverage.

The 2013 season doesn't officially end till 4pmE.. FA commences at that time. Right now teams can talk to agents but not players. The NFL Dates sticky explains that if its fuzzy.

Good point. But typically the rumors are all over the place by now. With a very strong draft class FA may be less than active.

Exactly why I figured we would know or at least have heard rumor about any hard bites on a Sproles offer. It is eerily quiet, could this year be the year an awful lot of FAs stay home because teams are turning to the cheap draft class?

If the league trends that way in years to come, it will make for some short careers or drive prices down substantially.

I just got another Astros tweet confirming that I can't watch my favorite baseball team all year because some dumb*** executives can't agree on splitting a trillion bazillion dollars in TV revenue.
