Alot of MO committed to Byrd, but it just may be the move to make the secondary really special... Really thin at Linebacker, and our starters in the middle are serviceable; Draft? Bullough? Van Noy? Attaochu? Looks like the younger players will be getting their chance by necessity - that could be a good thing... |

Re: Free agents 2014
Boy the Panthers have been decimated so far this offseason. Unless every single draft pick of theirs is an instant starter at a position of need then they're screwed.

Certainly... At this point that's the best they could do in acquiring a new #1 WR. I know there are a couple of better WR's still available but Carolina seems content to rely on their defensive front 7 to win them games instead of fielding an actual offense. |

Free agents 2014
In regards to Lance Moore..... Teams do not make a player a #1WR. The player earns it. He becomes it.
Exactly what is the assumption? The entire Saints organization (Sean Payton/ Loomis) is so inept they had a WR1 under their nose and never saw it? I suppose he could be a C, RB1, or a QB. |

Re: Free agents 2014
i agree this is an upgrade but i am going to stress Byrd is coming from a Division that had revolving doors at QB in all the teams locker rooms except New England. The mistakes or bad throws will not be as many so the INT's will be a bit harder to get.

I love his game. read diagnoses with the best of them just saying you have to have solid CB play and the biggest thing is a pass rush up the middle. something we lack pats did every thing they could to get speed one on one against byrd. go after him deep is a safer bet than in front of him. i am expecting the INT to drop a bit and him to get burnt a bit more in this division. but in the end we will all be happy with the signing. i think? i hope? he is an upgrade :bng: |

Am really excited to move on from the disaster that was I am often critical of Loomis; and while I question the numbers committed, also realize it took those to get him to take the cap allowable number this season to get him here (pay to play)... The Strief signing seemed an inevitable, safe move; would've preferred a younger, faster right tackle, but it is what it is... |
Re: Free agents 2014
We don't need a younger, faster RT just a healthy Strief.
Besides, Graham's contract will need to be finalized before we have enough sweet moolah to start signing rookies! Does that mean our UDFA class will be smaller?? |
