Re: Jimmy Graham Contract
I tried to trade Jimmy Graham on my franchise mode in Madden. He's got a 99 overall, yet nobody would give me a 1st for him. I couldn't get Alston Jeffrey, AJ Green, or Josh Gordon for him. Teams wouldn't give me anything you'd think his value would demand. Then I realized, TE's don't win Super Bowls.

Because a first rounder comes at 20m over 4 years, none guaranteed but the signing bonus he is less of a gamble than a Graham at 60m over 5 with 30m guaranteed. Proven doesn't matter much in this league when you balance that with loss of money because of injury or players that get paid and stop producing. Most of all 2 first round draft picks are given in the draft for? Not Tight Ends. It's everything.. What JP said above and what I've added. |

Re: Jimmy Graham Contract
the only way i see Jimmy traded is to a team that believes he would be the missing piece to get to the super bowl.
so that would be pick 32 or 31 if they were correct. If not oh well another GM on the market looking for a job |

Graham is not going anywhere, Saints Front Office seems to have correctly gambled and gained leverage showing that Graham, while a unique talent, is not worth two No. ones - leverage Saints... The aforementioned development is why Graham's representation filed appeal for review of Graham's position assignment in attempt to gain back leverage to 'move the middle ground' of annual compensation back up to Graham's camp's desired numbers... What's funny and probably frustrating for them, is that Graham's representation keeps beating their chest when he receives accolades by media, who may/may not have likely been bought with an exclusive or information on another story, for Graham as the League's (wait for it) Best Tight End... |
