Just reading it looking likely that the 49ers let Crabtree walk. Not sure what he could command on the open market. Worth a look?

Has great hands and can go over the middle. Could be Colston replacement.

Attitude is questionable, don't need in this locker room right now

"McPhee, who becomes a free agent on March 10, is expecting a contract worth $8 million to $10 million a year in free agency, according to the Baltimore Sun, and that is a contract the Ravens can’t afford."

Me too, read that the Saints were one of his options after he left the 49ers so why not try again

Clint Boling will be the best signing by a team in this Free Agency...

I want my Saints to be that team...

I would LOVE to get Boling and Wisniewski this offseason, but I'd be fine with getting one or the other. Armstead,Boling,Wisniewski,Evans, and Strief would be a fantastic o line! Or Armstead,Sherff/Collins,Wisniewski,Evans,and Strief would be nice. Realistically,it's probably going to be Armstead,Kelemente,Lelito,Evans, and Strief. Ballin on a budget!

New scout director Jeff Ireland has a track record of identifying solid O lineman. It will be interesting to see who we target in FA or draft.

Reggie Bush released by Detroit Lions - NFL.com

I'd like him back.

Green Bay Packers release A.J. Hawk after 9 seasons - NFL.com

I was really high on Hawk when he came out of college. Would he be an upgrade for us if he had anything left in the tank?

Re: PFF 2015 free agents

Green Bay players are most overrated group in the NFL. (defense)

I like their O-line and receivers.

Grubbs and Evans eat up a big chunk of cap space so rumor has it that either both or one restructure and the other gets cut. Many (myself included) feel Grubbs is one of the weak links in the offensive line so they would like to see him replaced

Center and Guard need upgrades this year. Brees can't step up to throw with the pocket collapsed. Way to much pressure up the middle. The Tackles are o.k. for now but next year might need to look for Striefs possible replacement.Imagine Brees behide a line as good as the Cowboys, they have the best of both worlds, great run game and all day to throw.

why go the FA route and get a large contract signed and the cut a guard that player is replacing only to care a huge dead money for the same year?

Evans 5 million in dead money for a caps savings of 6 million
Grubbs 6 million in dead money for a caps savings of 3.6 million

for one position?
new large contract + huge dead money = bad economics

draft is the better way to go this year. next year when the dead money is not so high then i can see it

Evans 1.5 million in dead money for a caps savings of 8.7 million
Grubbs 3 million in dead money for a caps savings of 7.3 million

so over two years
Evans at 6.5 million in dead money?
Grubbs at 9 million in dead money?

i would fire Mickey and start to question Benson's state of mind also. Rita may have been right.

I do understand it would be bad economics but the way the middle played last year ,if they would regress this season Brees body want take a Archie Manning type of pounding. Brees arm strength and body frame requires him to step up and follow thru to put his all into throwing the ball, he's not as stong as qb.'s like a Rothlisburger who can flip the ball with his wrist and have the arm srenght to do so. I do agree the draft would be better economically and the Saints may draft that way, but if they do or they don't somehow, someway it needs to get fixed.

Still the most tackles for a Packers LB ever.

"Ricky Jean Francois, per a source with knowledge of the situation, has signed a three-year deal in Washington.

The agreement has a base value of $9 million, with $4 million guaranteed. It’s unclear how much of that is fully guaranteed at signing. With incentives, the deal could be worth up to $11.25 million."

Canty would've been a great pickup the last time he was a FA... not so sure now.

hagan714 02-28-2015 04:46 AM

Re: PFF 2015 free agents

cards: Darnell Dockett or Dan Williams

if they wants more than $6 million per season, pass.

Brian Orakpo is in the same injury boat as Darnell Dockett.

Orakpo is 28 so 6 mill might be the ball park for him. probably one year deal to prove he is healthy and then he will go off and chase the last big contract he will ever sign. Even if he's only used in passing situations. minimizing risk of injury.

IMO none of these three are 3 down players and are just pieces to the puzzle.

4mill? league min?

Was just reading about Adrian Peterson and the drama his Dad has made beating the drum to get out of Minnesota...

Could you imagine the Vikes release him and he signed with...The Saints?!?

Imagine the reaction of every die-hard Vikes fan that has been wah-wahing on the web...

We'd probably see the largest mass suicide since Heaven's Gate went to the Mothership...

And then if we hit Lombardi Gras - there new stadium would collapse as their old one had...

As fun as it sounds I personally don't think we'd touch him.

Nearly 2 years ago his son was beat by his ex wives new partner and unfortunately passed away, everyone felt so bad for AP......that was until it was revealed that he was doing the exact same thing!

He does not sound like a SP or Saints kind of player.
