PFF 2015 free agents
Check out the list of FA and their rankings according to PFF here: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...gency-tracker/
Here is the list of our FAs: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...rleans-saints/ Walker is very under-valued and needs to be brought back with a larger role. Outside of walker everyone is very replaceable, even Ingram only rates at 1.8, that's slightly above average. Stat that stood out to me; Goodwin rated at -6.8 and DLP rated at +4.3. Almost every player we let go during the off-season played better than the players who replaced them. Our problem is coaching/motivation, not talent. So who do we target first? Does Mickey pull another from his hat and sign a big time player? |
Re: PFF 2015 free agnets
Three free agents who'd have the greatest impact on the Saints
C Stefen Wisniewski - Hudson of KC may have a better rating, but this guy has no one around him and he's played guard... G Clint Boling - he's had a small sampling, but he performed well against some good AFC North D-Linemen NT Terrence Cody - still believe Jenkins will be fine once he heals, but this would be an excellent young guy to have that position young and always fresh to disrupt the middle... Also, wouldn't mind vetting out RB Darren McFadden... |

I wanted us to take big body NT Cody (Alabama) in 2010 because (even then) everyone could run on us up the middle. That Draft, we took CB Robinson with last pick of the 1st instead of trading down. Or, we could've traded up 7+ spots from our 2nd pick where we screwed up again in taking OT Charlie Brown. |
Re: PFF 2015 free agents
C Stefen Wisniewski lets see what his asking price is. i have read he might just price him self out of oakland and think he might think his worth is way more than his level of play. I like to point out the guy is not the greatest shot gun center around. matter of fact he is still got some work to do in that department. but he is young 26 and just did the switch so lets see what happens.
NT Dan Williams is still atop my FA wish list. we got enough back up beef already. need a starter. ILB Mason Foster i really hope they let him slip through the cracks in tampa. this is my roll the dice guy in FA. injury-plagued this year i know but this is the first year he has not played 15 or more games. |

We'll sign: A TE, A FB, A LB, A SS or FS and of course a bunch of washed up PK.

Last 3 seasons: 3,3 yards per carry Last 4 games in 2014: 4, 2, 9, 4 run attempts. This season is the first time he didn't miss any games but he was ineffective and limited. |

Buccaneers want to extend Lavonte David's contract - Bucs Nation that could cost 8 to 10 mill right there |

But.......but.........what about CB?

Everyone say it with me...
Win the Line of Scrimmage, Win the Game... |
Re: PFF 2015 free agents
With some reworked contracts and player releases:
OL Stefen Wisniewski LG Clint Boling OLB Brandon Graham And if we hadn't done Galette's stupid contract, we could add: NT Dan Williams CB Chris Culliver And we'd have a nice little haul in free agency... |

Re: PFF 2015 free agents
I'll try to sign Bryan Bulaga if the price is right. Extremely underrated player. Only 25 years old. That's your starting RT for the next 5-6 years...
|
Re: PFF 2015 free agents
We need to sign a leader, thats for certain. Maybe more than 1.

I'd sign two younger, interior linemen (I suggested Stefan Wisniewski and Clint Boling); you'll see more of an impact at those positions... |

Re: PFF 2015 free agents
I was and assuming he doesn't end up on IR each year am happy with the signing of Byrd last year. It was a ....fest all over the field last year but get him a good SS to play with a let Vaccaro roam the field and we will be fine next year. I would have rather signed Alex Mack if we could have tempted him though

What is people's infatuation with Terrence Cody? Is it the name recognition or the Alabama ties? It sure as hell isn't based on merit. The dude played like 6-7 snaps ALL SEASON last year. He had one decent year in 2011 and has done next to nothing since. This is back when he was actually seeing action and at his "playing weight"... Attachment 10306 |

Stefen Wisniewski, C, 26 years Rodney Hudson, C, 26 years You know, with regards to Vaccaro, really thought of him as more of a free safety in the NFL, patrolling the mid-field; that's yet another reason I didn't like committing money to Byrd... Quote:
Terrance Knighton, NT, 29 years I mean, you can't geaux wrong with Pot Roast... |
Re: PFF 2015 free agents
Read somewhere that a solid defense is built in a straight line.
NT - LB - S What's missing here? |
Re: PFF 2015 free agents
Terrance Knighton, NT, i think we missed the band wagon on this guy. should have gone after him when he and jack ran off to denver.
now he will be looking for the huge pay day and bring to town a hige weight issue problem? nope missed the boot on him IMO I will take these two over Terrance for cap reasons and improved play over the past few years. NT Dan Williams, NT, Cardinals. Age: 28 Kenrick Ellis, NT, Jets. Age: 27. ILB Mason Foster, ILB, Buccaneers. Age: 26 Light comes on in 2015 gamble signing Bruce Carter, OLB, Cowboys. Age: 27. for the love of god put him back at ILB in 34 already which from the cowboys scrape heap do you want? there are a few. |
Re: PFF 2015 free agents
Like the Cardinals' Dan Williams as well, but he doesn't control the point on passing plays as well as on run plays...
J-E-T-S' Ellis is great, but isn't he a restricted free agent?!? |

Since you speak of the Cows, here is one for you Hagin ... Sean Lee. Edit: Sean is not a UFA however Rolando McClain is. He has great size, speed and arrives with bad intentions. Thoughts on McClain? |

Man, I wish the Saints had signed him then, much like I had hoped they would sign Canty before he went to Baltimore. |
Re: PFF 2015 free agents
I think the priorities in Free Agency have to be two new interior offensive linemen that are still young, entering their primes...
Should cap space be created that wouldn't further worsen the eventual cap doomesday we're facing, then a nose tackle to rotate with Jenkins or a space gobbling/ multi-blocker occupying defense end (i.e. Wilks, Geathers) ro allow Hicks to slide to the nose tackle rotation would be the next priority... Know the inclination for many is another cornerback, but look, as pathetic as some of those 3rd and long plays that broke our backs was, c'mon, there was waaaay too much time for opposing quarterbacks on those plays... |

nope UFA neither is huge in pass rush but against the run they are solid |

Most of the big earners are at a point of being cutable next year and Brees contract will be off the books a couple of years later. Its going to hurt and will probably mean a year or two of struggle but i dont thinks its the end. Well not unless Loomis,Payton call a end to there stay aswell then its all up in the air for a rebuild. Quote:

Another key date to consider will be 26 February, Galette's court date...
Loomis may not have to get too creative and Galette's recent extra-curricular activities may give the Saints even more cap relief... First court date tentatively set for Saints linebacker Junior Galette after domestic violence arrest | Saints | The Advocate — Baton Rouge, Louisiana |

Free agents I'd like us to look at which wouldn't break the bank
OLB: Derrick Morgan - Ten OLB: Pernel McPhee - BLT CB: Perrish Cox - SF CB: Sterling Moore - DAL WR: Jarrett Boykin - GB DT: Kendrick Ellis - NYJ DT: Tommy Kelly - AZ |

I like all of your selections with the exception of this one. He was hot garbage more times than not for the Cows. I don't think he would be an upgrade over what we already have (not really saying much). If we weren't so financially strapped salary cap wise, I would make a move for Vonte Davis. |
Re: PFF 2015 free agents
DT Tommy Kelly is still alive?!?

Re: PFF 2015 free agents
If we could accomplish an offensive line through Free Agency of:
LT Terron Armstead, Arkansas-Pine Bluff; 6' 5" 305 lbs, age 23 LG Clint Boling, Georgia (FA-Cincinnati); 6' 5", 311 lbs., age 25 C Stefen Wisniewski, Penn State (FA-Oakland); 6' 3", 307 lbs, age 25 RG Jahri Evans, Bloomberg; 6' 4", 318 lbs., age 31 RT Zach Strief, Northwestern; 6' 7"; 320 lbs., age 31 I'd really like our chances next season... |

my fear with him is not so much wanting out of town as much as he might be trusting his agent too much and over valuing himself i am watching GB Bryan Bulaga - highly unlikely he gets out of town Randall Cobb - great chance he walks but that will be a good size contract dreams |
