Re: 2018 NFL Draft Prospects - Saints
This can be a pretty accurate model of what could transpire, with some likely trades...
Still, you can now see why I'd want to move Armstead to get back into the high second round... Were the mock to shake out like this, we could get say Indy to bite on Armstead so they could finally get Luck protection... If that happened, we could send Armstead and a fourth and get a second and third... We could get both Bryan or Vander Esch and take UCLA RT Kolton Miller, allowing Ramczyk to ascend to LT... This would be one serious Jedi Draft Move; either way, we have three LTs on the roster, four if you count Bushrod who played their on our Superbowl team... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Former LSU RB Derrius Guice signs with Lil Wayne's sports agency
Former LSU running back Derrius Guice has switched sports agencies and is now represented by the group fronted by New Orleans native, rapper Lil Wayne. According to a report from Forbes, Guice signed with Young Money APAA. The agency also represents one of the top linebacker prospects in this year's draft in Texas' Malik Jefferson. Guice was previously represented by Top Dawg Entertainment. Former LSU RB Derrius Guice signs with Lil Wayne's sports agency: report | NOLA.com | |

27. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (11-5)
LB Leighton Vander Esch, Boise State The defensive overhaul continues in New Orleans as Vander Esch adds an athletic presence to the front-seven. He flies to the ball in the run game and has good range in coverage and he led the nation with 76 total stops a year ago. |

Re: 2018 NFL Draft Prospects - Saints
JP, there’s a draft analyst named Jon Ledyard and yesterday on Twitter he was showing Frank Ragnow clips. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen someone take an Alabama D-Lineman to church the way Ragnow did to Da’Ron Payne.
If Ragnow drops into the 3rd round, I’d definitely package our extra 5th and 6th to try moving up for him. He spends 2018 as a backup interior guy a la Kelemete and he starts at center in 2019. Releasing Unger next year frees up $6.25 million in cap space. |

Yeah, he's a Center, but I've felt he was first round grade prospect for a year now, still feel that way... I'd only lowered him into my second round group because I felt there were other guys I'd given priority like Taven Bryan and Leighton Vander Esch... Make no secret for my disdain for Mr. Glass and his unavailable"ness" coupled with having three (now four) left tackles on the roster... I'd like to move on, get younger, and attain easier-to-fill LG or RT... Peat or Ramczyk can easily man the LT spot, giving us cap friendly numbers for at least a couple more seasons... And allowing the unit to play more cohesively than eight (8) games in the regular season together... We could use that late one or early 2 on Armstead with teams like the Browns, Colts, Chargers and fill out our front seven or direct return on the offensive line... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Best case scenario for 2018 is that we get the Armstead we thought we were going to get when he signed that massive contract. |
