Fair enough but maybe Bell should have kept his old number . He's becoming a liability on the back end.

My ego aside, really want this guy on our roster; he's got the best hands, catch radius for what we do on offense; he just came from a limited program...

I got roasted a week or so ago when I stated that the Muhammad needs to elevate his game. He had 27 snaps last week vs Cardinals yet he didn't record a single QB "hit" or tackle. Those young bucks aren't going to wait around for him. Right now quite a few guys are ahead of him on the depth chart.

Definitely a "bubble" guy in 2018.

Rez, you're probably right and the sad thing about it , Muhammad has better speed, moves (and size) than Jovais or Edebali had at this point of their careers...

We've got some quality depth on the defensive line and it's been years since we could say that, almost never under a Sean Payton team...

Last 2 years Jeff Ireland & his scouting/talent evaluation staff has nailed their draft picks. Trust the process.

Not sure why some fans are surprised the Saints spent so much to take a shot at an elite pass rushing prospect. Von Miller, JJ Watt, Cam Jordan & Melvin Ingram's of the world don't grow on trees. IMO the lack of a consistent pass rush kept us out of the NFCCG last season.

Got a feeling it was Payton that didn't trust the process...

Success of the draft aside, we were methodical and waited for players to fall to us in 2017, more of a Jeff Ireland kinda draft...

I get it & understand but Davenport is a Saint now. What we "gave up" to get him doesn't really matter anymore. Just seems like a story no one wants to let die.

Lattimore has been working him hard this offseason too...

Saints' Justin Hardee benefiting from Marshon Lattimore's 'tough love'

...The reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year gave Hardee "so much tough love" this offseason and throughout training camp as he worked on improving as a cornerback.

"He's been very critical of everything I do," Hardee said. "If it's terrible, it's terrible. If it's good, it's good. He's letting me know."

Lattimore, Kamara, Marcus Williams ... young, talented, promising players but more importantly leaders of men. Attitude reflects leadership.

After watching his college highlight film, he may have the best hands on the team.

Get the Saints making the move to sign Meredith if they didn't feel comfortable bring back Snead, it made a lot of sense four months ago, but...

In light of the developments of Training Camp and PreSeason, what blackandgold expressed mathematically does seem to be logical - now...

In fact, if I were setting the roster for this season, at this point, I'd keep still keep six, but guys might just look like:

WR-X (2) 13 - Michael Thomas, 18 - Keith Kirkwood (UDFA)

WR-Z (2) 10 - Tra'Quan Smith (R3, #91), 17 - Michael Floyd (FA 2018)

WR-S (2) 80 - Austin Carr, 87 - Brandon Tate (FA 2018)

Meredith is having all kinds of issues getting up to speed, so maybe former Saints personnel man Ryan Pace really knows what he's doing?

Can't help but wonder if Ginn could still fetch us a fourth/fifth round pick?

Post June 1st cap hit for trading him would be $1.0mil hit with $3.5mil savings vs cutting him would be a $1.5mil hit with $3.0mil savings...

Anyways, it was only one game so all this may still be premature, but it's going to be an interesting week till 9/1/2018, NFL Cut Down Day...

We could always declare Meredith for Injured Reserve, Option to Return...

I don’t think Meridith makes the cut. I don’t see Payton cutting two veterans and putting all his stock in a rookie and camp beast. Smith is Legit and you don’t cut an early draft pick. I think Ginn gets the go over Kirkwood or Carr.
And hell, then there is TLL who has done nothing but stepped up every time he gets the call. It’s going to be tough. We are loaded at receiver.

Yeah, but Dude, Carr has been in the Saints system almost as long as Ginn...

I personally would rather see Carr or TLL than Ginn. He’s not as fast as he used to be and is old enough to know how to line up right. I’m just wondering if Payton is comfortable enough to let both Meridith and Ginn go.

Payton really values veteran leadership. Unless Ginn is totally screwing things up I believe Payton keeps him for his speed this year if nothing else.

Be more surpised, even p*ssed, if Hoomanawanui did make it onto the roster...

Especially after hearing Payton publicly lamenting about folks being available the past four years...

Think Dan Arnold has a much higher ceiling and can easily be the third Tight End right now with his speed and receiving ability...

Besides how often has Hooman been active for games past few years?

Just thinking aloud here... I think it’s a given that Hau’oli Kikaha’s tenure as a Saint will be drawing to a close on Saturday. He needs a fresh start on a 3-4 defense.

We just so happen to be playing a team tomorrow in the Rams who are in big need of some 3-4 edge rush help. I wouldn’t be surprised if we showcase Kikaha prominently tomorrow in hopes of the Rams biting on a trade.

There was somewhere around 20 trades right before cutdown day last year because with all of those players becoming free agents teams wanted to be sure they got their guy rather than risking him slipping through the cracks in the madness of cutdown day.
