And for Payton to call out a player in front of the press, I'd be worried about my security deposit if I'm Ginn right now... |

Re: 2018 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Get the Saints making the move to sign Meredith if they didn't feel comfortable bring back Snead, it made a lot of sense four months ago, but...
In light of the developments of Training Camp and PreSeason, what blackandgold expressed mathematically does seem to be logical - now... In fact, if I were setting the roster for this season, at this point, I'd keep still keep six, but guys might just look like: WR-X (2) 13 - Michael Thomas, 18 - Keith Kirkwood (UDFA) WR-Z (2) 10 - Tra'Quan Smith (R3, #91), 17 - Michael Floyd (FA 2018) WR-S (2) 80 - Austin Carr, 87 - Brandon Tate (FA 2018) Meredith is having all kinds of issues getting up to speed, so maybe former Saints personnel man Ryan Pace really knows what he's doing? Can't help but wonder if Ginn could still fetch us a fourth/fifth round pick? Post June 1st cap hit for trading him would be $1.0mil hit with $3.5mil savings vs cutting him would be a $1.5mil hit with $3.0mil savings... Anyways, it was only one game so all this may still be premature, but it's going to be an interesting week till 9/1/2018, NFL Cut Down Day... We could always declare Meredith for Injured Reserve, Option to Return... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: 2018 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Be more surpised, even p*ssed, if Hoomanawanui did make it onto the roster...
Especially after hearing Payton publicly lamenting about folks being available the past four years... Think Dan Arnold has a much higher ceiling and can easily be the third Tight End right now with his speed and receiving ability... Besides how often has Hooman been active for games past few years? |

RDE (2) 92 - Marcus Davenport (R1, #14), 97 - Al-Quadin Muhammad
Really looking forward to watching these guys on Thursday. That Davenport fella has me excited about the future at RDE. |

TE 85 - Dan Arnold ... has he shown enough ? Practice squad?
I was really high on Yelder (one of my camp beast) heading into camp, however DA has had more "splash" plays thus far. |

Re: 2018 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Just thinking aloud here... I think it’s a given that Hau’oli Kikaha’s tenure as a Saint will be drawing to a close on Saturday. He needs a fresh start on a 3-4 defense.
We just so happen to be playing a team tomorrow in the Rams who are in big need of some 3-4 edge rush help. I wouldn’t be surprised if we showcase Kikaha prominently tomorrow in hopes of the Rams biting on a trade. There was somewhere around 20 trades right before cutdown day last year because with all of those players becoming free agents teams wanted to be sure they got their guy rather than risking him slipping through the cracks in the madness of cutdown day. |
