Same can be said about Brandon. Ending the last 2 seasons on IR (shoulder issues) would definitely sound the alarm but he's a risk worth taking.

Nonetheless he'll be costly in Free Agency.

Just a couple of names to throw out there in Free Agency ...

B Breeland - CB ... assuming we aren't able to retain Janoris J, BB would come cheap, came up BIG in the Super Bowl and has a veteran experience in crucial moments.
A Armstead - DL ... Rankins can't stay healthy and no guarantees David O stays a Saint.

Cory Littleton - LB Rams

Speed, above avg coverage skills & can blitz. He played lights out (contract year) in 2019. Would be an upgrade over Klein (assuming he leaves in FA).

Not so sure the Rams would be willing to slap the tag on Cory.

The organization needs to stop ignoring the #2 WR spot. Michael Thomas is great but get him some help this off season.

Can’t argue with that.

I wouldn't mind a one year rental Lee from the cowboys if they don't resign him. Played 16 games last season, boom or bust, but would look good out there with Davis? Could be hard to throw on in the intermidiate also, both cover well and are tackling machines?

Lee's only good for eight full GP a year - I'd just play the odds with Anzalone this year...

Hard pass on Nelson. He can't seem to catch the contested passes.
Our current roster is filled with those types not named MT.

Robbie Anderson/Breshad Perriman are Free Agents I hope we target, then draft another one in the April.

Robbie is a guy I thought we were targeting pre free agency deadline in 2019.

But you're right St. T ... probably won't come cheap. Sticker shock is too great. We could potentially land someone cheaper, younger, higher ceiling @ 1/3 the price.

Naw, the Saints MUST hit on a WR in the draft ... EARLY. Brees can't bail out un drafted guys anymore. When I use the word "cheap", I'm referring to a 2020 draft pick. If the draft is as deep as scouts have been projecting, we should be in good shape. We don't necessarily need another Mike Thomas but a solid #2 WR changes things.

We were handicapped with limited weapons most of 2019. Deonte was a diamond in the rough.

Jared played lights out latter part of the season but he's a year older.

Southlake Humphries, Austin Carr, Emmanuel Butler can't help us.

I didn’t mean u K I meant the saints are all about the cheap . When u have Drew freakin Brees throwing u the ball u better get open and catch the dam ball . If u don’t it’s —- Nexxxt ——

Tajae Sharpe - WR Titans

Not the "sexy" name however he's a good route runner .. not a lot of targets with Brown and Humphries on the roster. At only 25, he would come relatively cheap. As a #3, he still managed to get 4 TD's on the season.

You may have answered, or at least narrowed his next chapter...

That's the mistake some of the talking heads are making. Just because he is in the state of Florida doesn't put him in proximity to any NFL city. He moved to Destin.

Destin to Tampa - 438 miles.
Destin to Miami - 645 miles.
Destin to Jacksonville - 327 miles.
Destin to New Orleans - 250 miles.

Rivers was born and raised in Alabama and his family still lives there. He moved there to be closer to his extended family and still take advantage of the Florida tax breaks.

When the Chargers moved from San Diego he commuted from there to LA.

SD to LA - 124 miles.

None of those other locations would make a commute from Destin a reality and he refuses to live away from his family. One other factor is that he has an open invitation to be a high school coach like his father.

** Edit - just read a tweet from PFF on JP's draft post as it relates to Josh Norman ...

"In his first 6 seasons in the NFL, Josh Norman surrendered just 13 TD's in coverage.

Over the past 2 seasons he has allowed 16
".

Not to mention that he'd probably need a cruise ship to move them all. He has like what 15 kids?

Speaking of veteran cornerbacks ...

My hope is that the Saints brain trust find a way to retain the services of Jack Rabbit Jenoris Jenkins this off season.

Well, he's under contract through the end of this season when he'll be 32yo in October at a cap hit of $10.5mil, so for a very good CB2, that seems right...

Know some of you already know me, but when I RT (retweet) or share stories, that doesn't necessarily mean I'm advocating, often just simply sharing for context...

There was an article i saw recently showing how we could easily free up $54 million in 2020 cap. It does involve Brees staying active, however. Cap space is not an issue.

It would only be done on an as needed basis. It basically means that cap shouldn't be an obstacle in free agency. Value, however, is another matter. Some teams are willing to overpay for a FA they dearly want.

Always believed in building thru the draft with a special pick up here and there on a up and comer like demario Davis .

I'm pushing all my chips to the center of the table.

Imagine losing Jack Rabbit, Apple & PJ this off season. Suddenly#2 CB position becomes a real issue.
