A lot of people really wanted DT Jarran Reed in the 2016 draft. He’s a free agent now... Any interest in him?

1 standout season out of four, suspended at the beginning of the 2019 season for domestic violence (alleged case from 2017) & more importantly diminished production on Sunday's. Buyer beware.

I'd pass on Reed.

Searched Twitter for news on Brandon Scherff and found it amazing how many folks tweeted in 2015 that he'd fall to the Saints in the 2015 NFL Draft at pick No. 13 where they took Andrus Peat...

With the exception of Kevin White and Ereck Flowers, every pick panned out well for the teams that took him; imagine a world where Brandon Scherff fell to us instead of Andrus Peat... :neutral:

For me in that 2015 draft, I really wanted and hoped we'd pick Kendricks but we selected Stephone instead. That Clemson interior D line was stout ... leaving the linebackers "clean" to make a ton of plays.

In my mind, never really saw the 1st round "hype" with Anthony though. Same could be said for Peat.

Admitted stubborness, but I still believe in Stephone Anthony...

Stephone played well his rookie year, graded well in his rookie season, received many accolades for his rookie year...

Played in the 3-4, with Hau'oli Kikaha as the Jack, but I truly believe his downfall, in no small part, was due to Vitt as the position coach and DA (a 4-3 guy) as the DC (who never wanted him)...

Anthony admittedly must have a slow processor, but a willing DC would've recognized his athletic gifts (probably more so than even Demario) and found a way to utilized his athleticism...

Tyeler Davison ended up being the best pick of that class...

Nick Easton played well in place of Andrus (injury), but still a mystery as to why coach limited him to 5 snaps in the wildcard game vs his old team when everything was at stake. Meanwhile Peat was getting used and abused, leaving Brees to run for his life.

We should take a look at Darqueze Dennard to be our nickel CB if Vonn Bell leaves and CJGJ has to go to SS full-time. Yes, there are injury concerns with Dennard, but he played the nickel very well for the Bengals and we should be able to get him on a reasonable one-year “prove it” deal.

He also carries a $15M cap hit for 2020. Very cost prohibitive.

We might just leave Janoris Jenkins’s contract alone. He’s making normal starting CB money this year and if we extend him how many extra years do you want to invest in a CB over 30 years old?

$10mil-$11mil is market rate for a good CB2; it may be reduce me beyond anathema, but I'd been okay paying that to Apple, who finished the season playing injured (Bears game), but started the first half terrifically...

Let's assume both are out of our price range, how about Nick Kwaitkoski from the Bears?

Littleton would be the top option, but vs the cost? Schobert would be the best fit...

But even with the gained wiggle room, don't think we're getting one of the better LBers in FA unless we cut Kiko loose and really do some finagling...
