Re: 2020 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Too bad the Saints aren't "interested" in Yannick.
He's never had less than 8 sacks & has 4 forced fumbles in 3 out of 4 seasons as a Pro. 13 tackles for losses in consecutive years & good against the run. Stud and only 25. Can we select one in the draft please? |

One, Yannick can do the hardest task for a DE very well, get the passer on the ground, and he wants top money for doing it... But there are liabilities to his game - he can't secure the edge, play-action pass slows his pass rush waaaay down, and he's not consistent with pressure - so he's boon or bust... Then there's cap cost to keep 'em (you're not giving away a first round pick on a one year rental), and with cap hits of other D-Linemen, Yannick Ngakoue is cost prohibitive... The Draft is the only realistic solution to improve the pass rush; and if we're real honest, no matter how you fall on the Davenport Debate, he's not finished a season yet when needed most... Trey gives great effort as a late 3rd round talent, but this is Trey's last season on his rookie contract, so that's another reason to address the position... Granderson is raw, at least another season, maybe two before he's a reliable edge defender; best case - it'll be end of this season before he's productive in Nascar sub-packages... We've got to get an available Edge Defender and it's my belief, though I still don't trust some of these models, that Epenesa will fall and is the answer to this lack of pass rush... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

As for Trey ... good rotational guy, never quits but he's simply not good enough to put QB's on their a**. Time for someone else to challenge his spot. Granderson, Spence & Davenport are still question marks off the edge. If the Saints are truly pushing all of their chips (M Jenkins, E Sanders) to the front of table in 2020, I'd bring in a proven vet to come off the edge. Gotta pack some goons once the playoff starts. As we know, it's a totally different animal vs the reg season. |

Just realised Ron Leary is a free agent.
Would be a upgrade on Easton maybe, can clear 4ml cutting Easton. Would be worth a look maybe, especially with Armstead injury history and Peat likely to get pushed out. Probably too late for a move now. |

From what I've read on Bronco forums, Ronald's best playing days are behind him and has become somewhat injury prone.

The local talking heads here in Denver can't stand the guy. I'll take Easton.
