Me, too. Need play makers up front. The days of monster sized front seven's, at least for now, are over. Gotta generate a pass rush in this pass-drunk league.

I'm okay with the pick ... trading up, very iffy on

Gotta lock in on a WR at 4th or 5th round, some nice ones still out there

Well idk where he plays but if we package him, anzalone, and kiko together you have a full season lol

That is a little steep. No later round picks thrown in from their side?

Why? Our roster is so loaded nobody left can make the squad.

He was labelled a first or second round guy and he had 12.5 sacks last year. Thats production

The Dude 04-24-2020 09:18 PM

So we got another linebacker who can’t stay on the field?

We were going to have an extra 3rd next year anyway because of the comp pick for Bridgewater so no big deal.

We should get one for Bell as well, right?

Re: Saints Draft Days Official Thread

I wish Duvernay would fall to us in the 4th. He's a route running monster, like Jefferson, who I really wanted. Not as fast. But he'd be a nice addition to the Saints style of offense. And it's not like Sanders is likely to be here more than the two years he's signed for.

I swear...they keep leveraging the next draft for the current one and that’s exactly why we end up reaching for a player.

You never know. Colston was a 6th or 7th round pick. And there's usually a little more give and take with deals outside the first couple of rounds.

And given our history with FA receivers and injury...Merideth.
Am I the only one that has very little faith in Sanders?

I thought I had read we are getting multiple comp picks next year.

Baun slides right in at Sam LB and he can rush the passer as a LEO/stand-up edge rusher on passing downs. High football IQ too. Compares favorably to former Buffalo Bill Lorenzo Alexander.

Sanders was playing in the Superbowl last year...

Meredith had missed most the previous season and even the Bears wouldn't extend him...

youre right

When matched against the addition of wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, that left the Saints with a +3 value in Over The Cap’s cancellation chart, projecting them to receive three compensatory picks in the 2021 draft. That would mean an extra selection in the third round (for Bridgewater) and a pair of sixth-round picks (for Bell and Apple, having lost another one by signing Sanders).

But Apple’s verbal agreement with the Las Vegas Raiders fell apart before he could put pen to paper, and he’s still a free agent. That cost the Saints a possible sixth-round pick in next year’s draft, and if he doesn’t sign with a new team at a comparable salary before the NFL’s deadline, they won’t get anything back for him.
