this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I really believed Awuzie was our "splash" signing to replace Janoris but the FO wasn't willing to pay what the Bengals ultimately paid for his services....

Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
I know its not a popular opinion but i think next year is going ton be ugly.
The strength of the defense was on the defensive lines depth being able to constantly rotate and keep freesh. Thats gone and once again there is little opposite Cam Jordan and nothing at CB outside of Lattimore who looks likely to get some sort of suspension. Again on the offense outside of Thomas and Kamara its all hope X steps up. Theres alot of holes to fill in the draft and little money. |

We'd probably be in the mix for a QB1 at the top of an exciting QB draft right now... I'd like to see Taysom get a legitimate shot at being the Saints QB1 and it not be handed to Player No. 2 by default of team politics... |

To your second point I truly believe that Winston will win the job and earn the starting spot. Personally, I believe that Taysom has reached his ceiling as a QB but there is still room for growth in his joker role. I'm not a Winston fan but I'm willing to reevaluate him throughout the season. |

Did everyone think he was suppose to be Drew Brees in his first start? Has everyone forgotten Drew Brees was benched multiple times in his Chargers tenure? Will agree that Jameis will be the starter and that has more to do with team locker room politics than play... |
