2021 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I doubt Payton will avoid drafting an offensive player for the first three rounds. It’s just not his nature....

Absolutely right. At this point our first round pick pretty much has to be CB. After that, I could see WR and TE being in the mix on day 2.

"We" have no clue right now what our picks have to be or might possibly be. We'll all find out when the draft actually happens. I guess I can kind of understand how y'all get into this pre-draft stuff. It keeps you involved. It's your version of off-season fantasy football.

As an old fart I'm not into wishing time moves faster, but whenever the draft does happen I'll be watching and hoping that every pick works out.

To make it interesting for me, Chris, I'll bet you that our first pick won't be a CB.

105. DE Patrick Jones II (Pitt)

I’m still not sold on Stokes being a first round talent but I’m not a know-it-all.
Like Patrick Jones alot as well - he'd be a great fit behind Cam next season...

We could still take a CB2 in Round 2 or 3, so I'd qualify your argument that we'd take a CB2 with a Day 1 or early Day 2 pick - 100%...

Wouldn't be surprised if we actually trade back into Round 2 and pick up some more quality depth and perhaps another starter...

Sean has a tendency of not doing the obvious because he hates being predictable, even if it's in the team's best interest...

Perhaps those that are actually doing the drafting has the team's best interest different than yours, JP.

Could be. Just saying.

Even if it means NOT picking an LSU player who can help better than a talent from another school.

Not sold on Pitts that high - getting deja vu of Vernon Davis...
